A Blessing In Disguise

“Would this horrible day ever end!” I screamed  “That spineless bastard,John Jacob Jameson,my ex boss.The chief editor of The Daily Word the biggest newspaper in the city  J.J Jameson let His assistant  Gabriel run the office,that slimy toad, Has the nerve to fire me!

J.J jameson’s best reporter on staff and I am the only reporter who would go to any length to get the scoop. I actually been under cover for the past few grueling months .I tried exposing the biggest crime ring in the city’s history. I was about to find out the real name of the cities crime boss; known as The Surgeon . I gritted my teeth after the fact Gabriel fired me in front of the whole office. All  J.J  Jameson said as his validation to fire me “Gabriella, I’m sorry, you was getting in too deep .So,he had to fire me for my protection;my ass. Only Days away from finishing the writing the biggest story of my reporting career.”I fumed as I slowly strode out the my old building for what I hoped the last time.my spirts soared for once today . Only to have my phone churps with Oliver’s heart wrenching text.  

Oliver:   Hey babe,going out of town on a busniess trip and I can’t make going our six month anniversary.sorry will make it up to you! 

“First, I get fired , my dad gets hospitalized, now my boyfriend cancels our plans. What else can fucking happen!!”  I exclaimed . While I was wrapped up in my own melodrama people passed me by .They scattered for protection from the onslaught of the rain. I didn’t even try to find shelter from the large droplets I welcomed them. “This is the perfect way to finish off the horriblest day ever!”I sarcastically state. 

Out the corner of my eye I seem a guy in a three piece suit sprinting through the congested crowd . I instantly stopped as barreling towards me at an alarming speed . In a cliché romantic movie the main character would gently run into their love interest . This is real life and things don’t happen like that. He slammed into me nearly knocking me off my feet. The douche didn’t every politely appologise for barreling into me. “ stop fucking painting your eyes shut so you can see where your going..” he screamed as he passed

“jerk ,you ran into me you should apologize !” I screamed as He ran off . I fumed as a passing car ran through a puddle of street sludge Water. Completely doucing me with the vile smelling water. I screamed and childish threw a tantrum in the middle of the sidewalk. Grr !!! I hate my life!!i screamed sarcastically .I tried to whipe the sludge from my face with my ruined jacket sleeve . I knew I should rush to the hospital to check on my father but I was in desprite need of a shower. 

 I waved down the Audi seen my driver pull up to the curb in front of my boyfriends building . My heels clicked across the pavement toward the dark Audi. I greeted my driver as I do each day after work. “Hello Fernando, I need to go st. Micheal’s hospital” the guy that turned around in the driver’s seat wasn’t my kind hearted driver .” Wait I know. You your that rude jerk who just barreled into me in the street.” I screamed he  smiled. It was a handsome stranger in a dark suit”hello Gabreilla Santiago , let’s go for a little ride.” I heard the door lock click into the locked position. I grabbed for the handle furiously pulling it. To my dismay the handle didn’t move . The tires squealed as he sped away from the building .Myheart pounded inmy chest as I screamed for the back seat “ who are you and where are you taking me? I demanded. “calm down queen bee it’s only a short ride to the suburbs of our fair city.” I went silent knowing my pleas and screams were futile. We pulled up information of a grand home with a well manicured lawn. Once the car stopped I rushed out even though I didn’t know my destination . I heard heavy foot steps behind me as a muscular arm wrapped around my waist. He pulled me flush against his hard chest and whispered in my ear . “Queen bee, I won’t hurt you calm down your making a scene.” His minty breathe upon my exposed skin.for some reason deep down I believed him that he had no ill intent to do me any harm . We were staring each other down assessing the situation . 

The door swung open a woman that should be magazine model came rushing out” clay, you didn’t tell me your coming home from France so soon.” She warmly said embraced both of us “where is my manners . “Hello clayton’s  friend I am marisol welcome to my home come in “ oli come out clay is home ... she called out .two identical rambunctious boys came barreling our the living room. Clayton’s arm dropped from my waist to cradle the two boys in a huge bear hug. Dark curls surrounded their heads like angel halos. The air was sucked from my chest as my Oliver ... my boyfriend came down the stairs with a world best dad t shirt on.Oliver Sinclair’s handsome mouth dropped as his olive skin paledhe stood in shock atthe  last step of the stairs. So this was the emergency busniess trip I thought as my fist clinched in a furious rage. Clayton once again grabbed my waist as he mischievously smirked at Oliver’s shocked expression”Gabriella,this is my brother- in -law  Oliver Sinclair and his son’s Derek and dexter . Clayton dramatically emphasised each introduction.letting the words sink deeply into my subconscious .This vision of beauty is my sister marisol Oliver’s wife ..

“wife” inadvertantly screamed “your married !”

“yes his wife “Clayton stated proudly “Oliver this is my friend Gabriella “ of course he would be married silly. Doesn’t he look like a happily married man!” He cheekily said as Oliver pale face paled even further. Marisol had a confused look upon her porcelain like face. She looked from Clayton then to Oliver in shock at their odd behavior.
