I could not help but notice how calm and relaxed Jerry appeared during those late-night calls. When I shared my thoughts about his casual attitude with my close friends, they claimed it is natural for men to appear steady and relaxed before their spouses but tense in a herd of their gender. Alas! I felt a sigh of relief. "Everything is okay, Lexy... Soon you'll be Mrs. Stevens, the love of your life," I could mimic these words every night until I fell asleep. I belived the words worked magic on me because I felt asleep faster. Finally, the long-awaited day arrived like a newspaper delivered by a delivery guy at the front door mat,

I kept questioning myself with my eyes shut.Under the veil, my eyes remained shut. At least brides had veils to mask their actions. With my head down, I turned away from the blinding light."Who allowed these gossip mongers into our home?" momma questioned in fury with an unnatural smile for the cameras. She has turned again into Mrs. Grey. Everything is for the show now."Camera lights..." I murmured. I couldn't help but wonder who hired them. Squeezing my phone and gnashing my teeth, "Who sent me this?""Is this a joke?""Why would someone send me this ugly joke today?" I questioned all my bridesmaids as my eyes turned into flames. While rubbing my back, Lydia pulled the phone off my hand and whispered in a shaky voice, "Lexy..., this ain't a joke.""This picture was uploaded about an hour ago.""Take a closer look, besty," said Lydia frantically."Damn it, Lydia, don't you dare calm me right now. I want to know whoever sent me this deadbeat joke," I said furiously, snatching the phone off Lydia's hands."The man in the photo looks like Jerry, but not my Jerry. They may be sharing the first name but not my Jerry Stephens," I said frantically.I didn't take the picture seriously. Sarcastically, I burst into laughter then the girls gaped at me.My weird reaction shook the girls. They must have thought I was losing it. Perhaps a string had detached itself in my mind.I wasn't thinking straight. I'm supposed to be da
