Born an Omega, Sorrell came into the world with very few prospects in life but refused to let those stand in her way. For as long as she could remember she has dreamed of being a pack warrior, wanting to fight for her pack and prove that Omegas are more than just servants. Determined to not let anything stop her, she holds firm despite catching the eye of the new Alpha. She can't understand why the obnoxiously good-looking Alpha has taken such an interest in her, but it all makes sense when on her 18th birthday she learns they have been fated. Sorrell was ready to become a pack warrior but becoming a Luna to a pack who definitely don't want her is not something she was ready to sign up for. Will she turn her back on fate, or can Alpha Alden convince her to take her rightful place as his Luna? Bite-Size Luna is a prequel novella to A Queen Among Alphas, book 1 in the Queen Among series. It is set 49 years before the events of that book. It can be read as a standalone book, but you will enjoy the references more if you have read A Queen Among Alphas. Here are the books in the series: A Queen Among Alphas - Book 1 Bite-Size Luna - A Queen Among Alphas Prequel A Queen Among Snakes - Book 2 Runaway Empress - A Queen Among Snakes Prequel A Queen Among Blood - Book 3 Whole Again - A Queen Among Alpha's spin-off A Queen Among Darkness - Book 4 Dark Invocation - A Queen Among Darkness spin-off A Queen Among Tides - Book 5 Valor, Virtue, and Verve - A Queen Among Tides Prequel Spin-off A Queen Among Gods - Book 6 A Queen Among Tempests - Book 7

Author's Note:
Bite-Size Luna is the novella prequel to A Queen Among Alphas, book 1 in the Queen Among series. In this series I take supernatural mythology you're familiar with and give it my own spin. So, for reference, there are some things I should make clear in case you haven't read any of the Queen Among books.1. Werewolves are not called werewolves in this universe, they are called 'mutolupus'.2. A fated mate or soulmate is called an 'animai'.3. All mutolupus' were created by the Warrior Goddess, Morrtemis4. Animai's were created among supernatural beings by the Goddess of Love and Peace, Zarseti to unite all species.5. Mutolupus' have no association with the moon.6. As this is a prequel, this story takes place 49 years before the events of A Queen Among Alphas, and focuses on the grandparents of that book's lead character.7. The Delegation is a group of supernatural beings (women) known as Irshiusts who act as supernatural law enforcement and protectors.Anything else will be explaine

Chapter 1: First Meeting - Sorrell
Where is my damn sneaker? I’ve torn my entire room apart looking for the damn thing and now I’m going to be late. I drop to the floor and reach my hand under my bed feeling around until my hand connects with what definitely feels like a sneaker. I pull it out and sure enough, it’s my missing shoe. “Gotcha!” I cheer. 'I can’t believe it took you this long to find a shoe. Put her out in the woods and she can hunt like no one’s business, ask her to find a lost shoe in her bedroom and suddenly she’s inept,' mocks my wolf spirit, Alma, in my mind. 'Remind me why I tolerate you?' 'Because you have no choice,' she retorts smugly. I hate it when she’s right. I quickly slide my hand into my sneaker to make sure no creepy crawlies decided to take sanctuary there while it was hiding under my bed, and once all is clear I put it on and do up my laces. My long blonde hair is tied up in a ponytail, sweatband is on, got my white shorts on and white halter-neck top on and I am ready for some train

Chapter 2: Training - Alden
I love morning training. Watching my pack members gather together to help each other get stronger, not just for their own sake but for the betterment of the pack, is a rewarding experience. My dad always used to prefer training away from the pack or just with his council and it never sat well with me. An Alpha should train and fight alongside his pack, to show them that he has their back, but let’s face it, there are a lot of things my dad did as Alpha that I didn’t agree with it, but that’s all going to change. 'As it should. Your father is a prick and the way he treated this pack was a disgrace,' growls my wolf Atlas in indignation from his sanctuary in my mind. 'You don’t have to tell me. It’s not like I never tried to talk him around or persuade him to make changes, he just never fucking listened,' I say in irritation. 'I know, but our plan is working just like I told you it would. There was no point in speaking against him while he was Alpha, but now that we are Alpha, we’re fr

Chapter 3: First Meeting - Alden
As training continues I step away and make my way around the group like always to assess everyone during training. I want to see how they’re interacting with one another and look for areas where they may need improvement if any. 'Yay, here we go again,' says Atlas, rolling his eyes. This is our least favourite part. Every time I do this, almost every female I pass goes out of their way to get my attention. Tossing of the hair, licking of the lips, batting of the eyelashes, some even being brazen enough to try and ‘brush’ past me. I hate it. Are some of them attractive? Certainly, but I’m not interested. I don’t make it a habit of screwing my way through pack members and I think those who do are a disgrace. I won’t deny that being part wolf there is a part of us that is driven by our hormones, but we do have brains and we can choose to not react to those instincts. Just think about it for a moment, say you’re an Alpha like myself, and you’ve fucked half the available women in your pac

Chapter 4: A Work Day - Sorrell
I race home as fast as I can and fly up the stairs to jump in the shower. My stomach is snarling, demanding its daily offerings, but I just don’t have time to eat right now. That stupid Alpha distracted me, and I lost track of time. I should have been back sooner than this, and now I’m going to be late to work at the packhouse. Since I’m an Omega my prospects are painfully limited. I work two jobs just to earn an income. I’ve been working part-time as packhouse staff for the last few months, and I work as my mum’s assistant part-time at the gym she works at. She’s one of the most popular aerobics instructors in town, and yeah, there are a fair few men who show up to get front row seats to the hot instructor, but as long as they don’t flirt or touch they’re safe. The day they cross that line, my dad will be out for blood, and no one will find the bodies. Mostly because I’ll have helped him bury them. What? I’m not cool with some perverts checking out my mum and drooling all over her. A

Chapter 5: Feuding Alphas - Alden
The rest of training was a total blur. I couldn’t stop thinking about Sorrell. Not about her beauty but the longing and sadness in her voice when she talked about fighting for the pack. 'Face it, you were also thinking about her beauty,' Atlas sniggers. 'Okay, so what if I was? Why can’t you just tell me if she’s our animai or not?' I ask in irritation. 'Because not even I know for sure if she is, I admit we are sometimes given signs, but I could be reading the signs wrong. I don’t want to risk it and find out she’s not the one,' he whines. I wish we could know from birth who our soulmates were. Would be sweet, actually. Maybe grow up side by side with the other half of your soul, always having them close, never wasting time with people who could never hold a candle to that person. 'Oh yeah, nothing like baby soulmates, how romantic,' says Atlas almost repulsively. 'What would be so bad about that? It’s not like I’m talking about intimacy. I just mean having that person your whol

Chapter 6: Man With A Plan - Alden
After my shower, I get dressed and head to my office, doing my best to ignore my dad’s glare and my mum’s sympathetic face. Once in my office, I sit at my desk and rub my face already feeling fatigued and famished since I didn’t stick around to eat anything in my suite. It’s amazing how a small argument can zap the energy right out of you, but I’ve got shit to do. 'Lark, can I see you in my office?' I ask him through the pack-link. 'Be there in a jiffy!' He says, cheerfully. Not a moment later, Lark is walking through my door and sitting in front of my desk, excitement and eagerness rolling off him in waves. “What can I do for you, boss man?” He winks. “I want to discuss something with you. I plan to do it regardless, but I want to hear my Beta’s take on it first.” “Fire away,” he says brightly. “You know Edward Deslandes?” I ask, as I get up and go through my filing cabinet where I keep a record of every pack member. “Yeah, he’s one of our warriors.” “Right. Well, he has a daug

Chapter 7: First Day - Sorrell
I didn’t get a wink of sleep; I was far too amped up in anticipation for my first training session with the pack. I’ve dreamt of this day for as long as I can remember and now it’s finally here. I glance at the clock, seeing it’s five in the morning. Unable to wait any longer, I spring out of bed and get dressed in my workout clothes and make my way downstairs and out the door. I take my time walking to the training field; grateful I can see in the dark or I’d be tripping all over the place. As soon as I get to the field I feel chills run through my body. Standing in the middle of the field I take in just how monumental this moment is. As much as I’ve wanted this, I never actually thought it would happen. It’s not like we can start protest groups, or march for Omega rights like the human women a few years ago with the whole burning their bras thing. All it takes is one Alpha order and there goes your free will. So our only hope for change is for the Goddess to bless us with a compassi

Chapter 8: Fists of Fury - Sorrell
Soon the rest of the warriors are joining us and because everyone is a moron, I can already hear the whispers. Just use the fucking pack-link, come on. Some people recognise me as packhouse staff and others have no idea who I am, but from my scent, I’m sure they can tell I’m an Omega, so this should go over about as well as a turd in a punch bowl. “Let the fun begin,” smirks Carey. He seems like the kind of guy who loves drama, Roland does too, but Roland also seems to have a serious streak while Carey is more fun-loving. This should be interesting. “Alright! Everyone gather 'round. Before we begin today’s training our Alpha would like to make an announcement,” Roland announces, commanding everyone’s attention as Alpha Alden steps forward, bulging arms crossed over firm pectorals… nope, not going there. ‘Too late,’ Alma sniggers. “As you all have noticed, we have a new face joining us today. This is Sorrell,” he says gesturing to me, “You will welcome her and treat her no different

Chapter 9: A Son's Decision - Alden
My eyes are trained on every movement Richard makes as he resets Sorrell’s hand. He’s gentle and careful and it has me fighting to stay put. I know she’s not mine, and maybe she never will be, but still, seeing someone else touch her like this while I just sit here… it’s enough to make me want to tear this room apart. It’s not every day someone is able to get the jump on me, and certainly not every day someone breaks one of my bones. Lark, Roland, and Carey have on occasion, but that’s training for you, we go hard or go home. Most other pack members hold back out of fear if they hurt me I’ll rip their heads off. I’d rather they broke one of my bones than held back, at least if they break something I’d know they’re capable of defending themselves, and with speedy healing, it’s not a big deal. Sure, Sorrell breaking my nose hurt, but what hurt more was knowing she broke her own hand in the process. However, the moment I touched her I barely even noticed the pain. I didn’t enjoy laying
