After losing her self-respect for three years, Victoria finally let go of the man who never loved her and the family that never accepted her. She had previously sacrificed her true self in the name of love, but now she aims to reclaim it again, not for someone else’s love, but solely for her own. Unexpectedly, the man who had been distant towards Victoria suddenly became passionate with her. Nevertheless, Victoria had already made a firm decision, or so she believed. On the way to her new journey, Victoria faced several challenges that she never expected. Past dug around and hidden truths unravelled along with endless drama and schemes of enemies. Could she put everything together and find her way alone in this journey, or would she get back the love she has waited for three long years? **** “Alessandro...” I called out to him, eager to express the words that were difficult for me to say: I am pregnant! Not a lie anymore but a fucking truth... I want to say it to him. He stopped and looked back. “Now, don’t waste time. Apologise...” In a split second, I was caught off guard by his words, causing me to respond with something unexpected and completely out of character. “Let’s get a divorce,” I did not even let him finish his words… (Book 1: Completed ch1-ch156) ************ Book 2: Greetings, Mr. Husband (Ongoing, started immediately after Book 1)

Oh no, no, no! Shit! I glanced at my wristwatch and then at the lengthy line of traffic in front of the signal ahead. It seemed the whole of New York was at a standstill.“Sir, can you tell me how long it will take?” I asked the driver. The man shook his head. “I don’t know, madame. It seems it will take a long time,” he replied in a thick French accent.Fuck! Why is it always me facing such tragedies? I needed to reach the birthday celebration before 6 p.m., and it was 5:50.Oh lord! I had no choice. After paying the cab’s fare, I took a deep breath, quickly exited the taxi, and rushed down the street. I loved my husband so much and would do anything for him, including rush like mad, so I wouldn’t be late for his grandmother’s seventieth birthday. My husband and I had been living together for three years, and I had been suppressing my personality just to be with him. But I took a pregnancy test the week before and was expecting a baby! I couldn’t wait to tell him the good news!Though engrossed in my thoughts, I didn’t miss it when a car approached, looking as if it were about to hit an old woman on the side of the road.Without a thought, I ran to her and pushed her out of the way. But I tripped and fell into a mud puddle. “Aah,” I whimpered in pain. The old woman tried to help me stand. “Oh, my sweet little girl.”With a slight help from her, I rose, feeling a terrible ache in my right arm. It messily fell under my stomach. God knew if I broke my hand.“You okay, sweetheart?” the old lady asked. “Let me take you to the doctor.”“No, ma’am, It’s alright. I have to leave.” Despite the excruciating agony in my arm, I didn’t waste a second before getting back underway. I looked at my dress. Oh, good Lord, my dress is a mess. Alessandro would be so angry. But it was already past six, and there was no time for me to change. After receiving several odd looks from people on the street, I reached the hotel. My husband stood in the foyer, maybe waiting for me?“Alessandro...” I walked toward him, hoping he would understand my situation. But the moment his eyes fell on me, his cold gaze turned into an icy stare, and his jaw clenched. “Of all days, how could you be late today? This will make me lose face in front of everyone!”“I—Alessandro, let me explain. I was—”“Enough!” He raised his hand. “I don’t want to hear any of your bullshit!”Quickly, I lowered my eyes, not wanting him to see the tears that threatening to form. I knew this would happen, but was it my fault? The thought blurred my vision even more, despite me trying so hard not to let my tears spill.Worse, two ladies approached, sneering—Alessandro’s cousins. They paused, and one said, “Today is Madame Devonte’s birthday. Are you dressing like this to embarrass us?”The other looked at her and said, “I think she shouldn’t go in.” Then her gaze shifted to me. “You’ll only make my grandma angry.”I peered at my husband through my eyelashes. His face had turned gloomier at their words. Thanks, bitches.“Change into a sober dress,” Alessandro ordered coldly and walked into the dining hall, obviously ashamed to be seen with me.I closed my eyes, taking a sharp breath to control my tears before changing clothes.A shadow appeared beside me. “What the fuck are you wearing?” Alessandro’s ex-girlfriend, Camilla, asked, her voice dripping with vicious disdain. “What? Is that your new fashion choice?”Oh no, not again. Not this woman! She had continued to pursue Alessandro, despite him being married to me for years. Worse, since she saved his life in an accident, his family loved her, thought of her as an angel.Angel, my foot!Considering my distressed mood, her insults only inflamed me further. However, I was already late and Alessandro was angry. Answering her would only make things worse. So I kept my expression neutral and began to walk away. She grabbed my injured arm, and a painful whimper escaped my lips. Her nails dug into my flesh. “How long are you going to occupy my Alessandro?” she hissed like a poisonous snake.Ugh. That was the limit. I had tried to avoid the argument, but Camilla hadn’t let me. Pulling my arm free from her, I turned to her. “That man is my lawful husband. How can you say I am occupying him?”“You are shameless!” Camilla shouted. “He wouldn’t have married you if you hadn’t seduced him with your despicable methods!”“You’re the one who’s despicable,” I shouted back, unable to suppress my voice any longer. And why would I? I was his lawfully wedded wife, after all.Camilla raised her hand, and I watched as it came down to strike my cheek. But then she stopped abruptly and started crying, pulling me toward her until she fell to the ground. “Please, don’t hit me,” she pleaded. “I promise I will never meet Alessandro again.”Wait? What?“Are you hurt?” Alessandro’s concerned voice met my ears. But his concern wasn’t for me. I watched in horror as he bent beside Camilla.Amid her sobbing, she said, “Victoria pushed me. I think I broke my ankle.”“I didn’t push her! She fell,” I said, raising my voice.“Shut up!” Alessandro spat, his eyes turning into angry slits as he peered at me. He turned back to Camilla, picked her up and strode away with her in his arms.In shock, I stood and watched, not knowing how to feel, how to process what I’d just witnessed. Did he truly believe her over me?When I thought nothing more disastrous could happen, Alessandro’s aunt, Gina, appeared out of nowhere, gripping my hurt arm harshly. But I barely let out a whimper before she screamed, “You bitch! You dare bully Camilla! I’m going to tell Grandma!”Hello dear readers, I know I am always late to update chapters here. I apologise for that. Lately some of you were very upset about me leaving this story unfinished. I never intended to abandon it completely. I was trying to work on it and struggling honestly. However, I will return with it as soon as I am stable enough to continue. And for my other story 'Down the memory lane: marry me again, dear wife' is completed. Please, do give it a try. Also, 'tempted by her forbidden Alpha' and 'disguised bride of the ruthless duke' they are also completed stories, please do give it a try. Thank you...
LILY... "He has been stabbed over 15 times. The killer might hate him so much. His neighbour felt something was wrong and went to check. Sigh... The poor woman must be in trauma after the scene." Max said. "Umm... Anything else?" I asked, Sitting in the opposite of his desk. "I mean, who could be the killer? Any hint?" Max shook his head. "Not yet." He looked around before lowering his tone, "And you must not be too curious about this matter. He was involved in the politician murder case and now this happened. It's dangerous, Lily." Closing my notebook, I chuckled. "Are you seeing me after danger the first time?" He sighed, narrowing his eyes, "Better my name is not connected to this case. Inspector Brian was my senior and this is morally a crime for me to share any inside news with you. But..." He let out a helpless huff. "What could I do? You're a friend I couldn't deny." "You're an amazing friend both personally and professionally." I stood up. "I'll leave now." "Hmm, don't
LILY... I yawned, stretching my hands and fluttered my eyes open. The narrow ray of light was entering through the little window of my room. I smiled. It's a good and very free morning of my life. I couldn't help the grin broke on my lips... So refreshing to think that I kicked out a huge toxicity of my life! Sooo Good! Fluttering my eyes again, I looked at the small window. But, why does it feel so close this morning? I mean, sleeping on the couch, this window is a bit away from me, isn't it? Or, was I wrong? As if to answer my question, something firm wrapped around my waist, making me confused as well as alert... "Good Morning..." A deep husky tone muttered beside my ear. Fuck! I immediately jumped out of bed only to fall on my butt "AaGh!" I cried out and looked at the intruder only to gasp in agony, "Leo!" His bluish-green gaze was on me, frowning. "What stunt are you playing this morning?" He asked in a groggy voice, turning me dumbfounded. "I am playing!?" I barked at h
LEO... I woke up in the late afternoon. Couldn't sleep the entire night thinking about the ridiculous shit I did in the club. I fucking kissed her! Her soft lips felt like cotton candy, and her soft berry scent was delicious... Since the day I met her, I wanted to kiss her and finally, I did, but... Now I want more even though it happened at a crucial moment, I couldn't stop thinking the feeling of her! That woman was insanely climbing all over my thoughts! After that kissing incident, I kept myself shut to not do something more crazy. Though I don't know how long I could maintain this peace. Every time I think of her, my imagination runs wild and the effect is clear under my trousers! Sigh... Sitting on the bed, I looked around. Lily was nowhere to be seen. Wait... Where is she? It's Sunday today and she's still out for work? Such a pathetic life of a reporter! That woman really does not care about her safety, does she? What if she faces sort of the same troubles? I'm not beside
LILY... Not even three days passed and on the fourth day, I was standing right in front of the hell. I swore to not appear here after that insult but here I am, again I am here because Mom called me this morning. At the age of Fifteen, I left this mansion. It's been over nine years since she called me. I know I shouldn't after that night but I couldn't deny her because of the promise I made to Theo. If it wasn't for Grandma, I wouldn't bother to show up here ever. Taking a deep breath I stepped inside. Surprisingly, no one stopped me and I went to the hall. Alyssa, Ruby and Dad were Sitting there. The environment was gloomy. Something definitely happened here. "You called me?" I directly asked Ruby. For some reason, my usual fear wasn't working anymore. Probably because Grandma's safety was managed. She looked up at me. Her cold eyes were sending chills at my way. Beside her, Alyssa was leaning on her shoulder with her bloodshot eyes. "How dare you get in here!?" She roared at m
LILY... Lord! I messed up! What to do now!? It's not my first time doing such a thing, yet I am frozen here. And before I realised, I was pulled back hastily as Leo covered the crack. "W-we need to leave," I muttered before opening the storeroom door to leave but paused at the sight of those men. Shit! They smelled us here! Immediately closing the door, I backed up. Hope they don't enter here. "What the fuck!? Are you always this clumsy!?" Leo hissed. "Who gave you the access to become a crime reporter!?" I was already annoyed and his taunts were worsening it. However, my annoyance died inside when footsteps neared the store room. Shadows of suspicious footsteps were just outside the door. I backed away, hitting my back at Leo's chest. I could feel his rigid figure. The knob of the door twisted and my heartbeat stopped for a moment. Suddenly, Leo grabbed me by the waist, pushing me on something hard and his lips followed mine next, stiffing me on the place. In the next second th
