The hold system is a lesson in patience, but it's so rewarding when that 'Your Book Is Available!' notification pops up. It feels like winning a tiny lottery. I got mine for 'It Ends With Us' at 2 AM, and I immediately downloaded it, even though I was half asleep. No way was I risking it expiring!

The audiobook version through the library is phenomenal. The narrator really captures Lily's voice, from her youthful diary entries to her present-day strength. Hearing the emotion in the narrator's delivery added a whole other layer to the story, especially during the more tense and heartbreaking scenes. I borrowed it via Libby and listened over a week of commuting. It made my drives fly by, though I did have to sit in my car a few times in the driveway to finish a chapter. Definitely consider that format if you're an audio person.

Can we talk about the cover design for a second? The original cover, the new one... they're so evocative. Seeing that little blue flower on the stark background on the Libby thumbnail always catches my eye. It's funny how a cover can become so iconic you recognize it instantly even on a small phone screen in a digital library. Makes scrolling through holds feel like a mini art gallery of anticipated emotions.

Not every library has every title, but many participate in consortiums that pool resources. If your immediate search in Libby comes up empty, ask your local librarians! They can sometimes purchase suggested titles for the digital collection, or they can tell you about other libraries in the state that offer non-resident e-cards for a small annual fee. That $50 fee is still way cheaper than buying audiobooks individually. I know the Free Library of Philadelphia used to offer a non-resident card, though I think they paused it. It's worth a quick web search to see what's currently available.

Why pay for a Kindle Unlimited subscription when this exists? I see so many Colleen Hoover books on KU, but library apps have them all for true zero cost. The only investment is the time to get a library card and set up the app. It's a no-brainer for voracious readers.

I love the environmental aspect. Zero shipping, zero production waste for a physical book. Just pure data. It feels like the most sustainable way to read, aside from borrowing a physical copy from a friend, which is also great.

My two cents: instead of just searching for 'It Ends with Us,' also search for 'Colleen Hoover.' Sometimes libraries bundle her books into a 'Hoopla Bonus Borrows' month or have other promos where the borrow doesn't count against your monthly limit. Hoopla is a different service than OverDrive/Libby, and it's instant-borrow, no waits, but titles rotate. It's another avenue to check.
