Official channels for discovering the manga and finding translators have their limitations. For one, there is no official publisher for the manga, and thus far, no fan translators have picked up the series either. All one can do is wait and hope that the manga gets popular enough for either a fan translator to take up the series, or for an official publisher to realize that it would be a good series to translate and release. In the meantime, the only way to demonstrate to those with the skills to translate the manga that there is demand for translations is to actively engage with current translations of the manga (commenting, sharing on social media, etc). Passive searching of the Internet for people who might translate the manga will not achieve anything, as the answer is simply 'no'.

This brings us to the economics of attention. We can say that, for fan translators, kudos, comments and donations are currency. When translating a well-known work with an existing audience, there’s a much better chance of receiving these ‘rewards’ for one’s labor. However, translating an unknown, untapped novel is a complete gamble. Will people even be interested in reading it? And if they do read it, will they even care? ‘Absolute Hypnosis’ manga acts as an advertisement for the novel. But as it stands now, there is already ample entertainment in the form of the manga itself, for its existing audience. Thus in perceiving that demand is not sufficient to trigger supply of novel in this case, there is a classic market failure in the fandom’s ecosystem.
