' Hunter x Hunter's status is a somewhat sensitive issue for fans. It remains that the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi is currently on hiatus. The most recent chapter, Chapter 390, appeared in November 2018.
However, the anime adaptation concluded in September 2014 with episode 148 and for the most part answered all large series threads. Even so, presumably there might be still a chance the manga will go on or as the case may be maybe an anime version could come back. Let's hope!

Hisoka’s obsession with Gon in 'Hunter x Hunter' is often reimagined in fanfics as a dark, twisted romance. Writers delve into the psychological complexity of Hisoka’s fixation, portraying it as a mix of predatory allure and genuine fascination. I’ve read stories where Hisoka’s obsession evolves into a possessive love, with Gon initially resisting but eventually being drawn into Hisoka’s dangerous charm. These fics often explore the power dynamics between them, with Hisoka’s manipulative nature clashing against Gon’s innocence and determination. The tension is palpable, and the emotional depth added to Hisoka’s character makes these stories compelling. Some fics even explore a more consensual relationship, where Gon matures and begins to understand Hisoka’s intentions, leading to a complex, albeit unconventional, romance. The best ones balance the dark undertones with moments of genuine connection, making the relationship feel both believable and intriguing.
Another angle I’ve seen is the exploration of Hisoka’s backstory, providing context for his obsession. Writers often depict Hisoka as someone who has never felt a connection as intense as the one he feels for Gon, which adds layers to his character. These stories sometimes include moments of vulnerability from Hisoka, showing a side of him that is rarely seen in the original series. The romantic context allows for a deeper exploration of Hisoka’s psyche, making him more than just a villain. The relationship is often portrayed as a game of cat and mouse, with both characters constantly challenging each other. This dynamic keeps the story engaging, as the reader is never quite sure who has the upper hand. The blend of danger and romance creates a unique narrative that is both thrilling and emotionally charged.

Exploring the forbidden love between Kurapika and Chrollo in 'Hunter x Hunter' fanfics is a fascinating dive into their complex dynamics. I’ve come across stories that frame their relationship as a battle of wills, where their mutual obsession becomes a twisted form of intimacy. Some fics portray Kurapika as torn between his duty to avenge his clan and his growing, unwanted attraction to Chrollo. These narratives often delve into psychological tension, with Chrollo manipulating Kurapika’s emotions while secretly being drawn to his resolve. I’ve also seen AUs where they meet under different circumstances, like Kurapika infiltrating the Phantom Troupe undercover, leading to a slow-burn romance. The best ones balance their animosity with moments of vulnerability, showing how their shared pain could bridge their divide. For a darker take, I’d recommend fics that explore Chrollo’s fascination with Kurapika’s eyes, turning it into a metaphor for their toxic yet magnetic connection.
Another angle I’ve enjoyed is the exploration of power dynamics. Some writers craft scenarios where Kurapika captures Chrollo, only to find himself questioning his own motives as their interactions grow more personal. These stories often highlight Kurapika’s internal conflict, torn between his hatred and the unexpected empathy he feels for Chrollo. I’ve also seen fics where Chrollo uses his charm to seduce Kurapika, blurring the lines between manipulation and genuine affection. The tension is palpable, especially when writers delve into their shared loneliness and the way they mirror each other’s pain. For a more unconventional twist, I’ve read crossovers where their story is reimagined in different universes, like a modern-day mafia AU or a fantasy setting where they’re rival sorcerers. These fics often highlight the timeless appeal of their dynamic, proving that their story can be adapted to any setting while retaining its emotional core.

Exploring Killua and Gon’s emotional bond in 'Hunter x Hunter' porn fanfiction often delves into their intense friendship and the unspoken tension between them. Writers frequently use their shared experiences, like the Chimera Ant arc, to build a foundation of trust and vulnerability. These stories often portray Killua’s internal struggle with his Zoldyck upbringing, juxtaposed with his desire to protect Gon. Gon’s recklessness and emotional outbursts are framed as moments of raw honesty, drawing Killua closer. The physical intimacy in these fics is often a metaphor for their emotional connection, highlighting how they navigate their feelings in a world that constantly tests their bond. Some fics even explore alternate universes where their relationship evolves differently, like in a modern setting where they’re roommates or childhood friends. The best ones balance the explicit content with deep character exploration, making their bond feel authentic and layered.
I’ve noticed that many fics focus on the aftermath of Gon’s transformation during the Chimera Ant arc, using it as a turning point for their relationship. Killua’s guilt and fear of losing Gon are often central themes, with writers exploring how he copes with these emotions through physical closeness. Gon’s obliviousness to Killua’s feelings is a common conflict, leading to moments of tension and eventual resolution. These stories often emphasize Killua’s growth, showing him learning to express his emotions rather than suppress them. The dynamic between them is portrayed as both tender and volatile, reflecting the complexity of their bond in the original series. For fans of the show, these fics offer a deeper dive into their relationship, blending passion with emotional depth.

Exploring the unresolved tension between Kurapika and Leorio in 'Hunter x Hunter' fanfics is a guilty pleasure of mine. The best ones I’ve come across focus on their emotional depth rather than just physicality. One standout fic had them reuniting years after the Chimera Ant arc, with Kurapika grappling with his survivor’s guilt and Leorio stepping in as his anchor. The slow burn was exquisite, with moments like Leorio tending to Kurapika’s wounds after a mission, their hands lingering a little too long. Another gem explored their college days, blending humor and angst as Leorio tried to break through Kurapika’s walls. The dialogue felt authentic, capturing their banter and the underlying longing. I’m particularly drawn to fics that address Kurapika’s internal conflict—his duty to his clan versus his growing feelings for Leorio. These stories often end with a cathartic confession, leaving me emotionally satisfied.
For those who enjoy darker themes, there’s a fic where Kurapika’s use of Emperor Time takes a toll on his body, and Leorio becomes his caretaker. The intimacy in those scenes is raw and tender, with Leorio’s frustration and love shining through. I also appreciate crossovers, like one where they end up in a modern AU, working in the same hospital. The tension builds naturally, with stolen glances and late-night conversations. If you’re into world-building, there’s a fantasy AU where Kurapika is a cursed prince and Leorio a rogue healer. Their dynamic is electric, blending adventure with romance. These fics not only explore their unresolved tension but also deepen their characters, making them feel more real and relatable.

Exploring the psychological depth of Hisoka and Illumi’s relationship in 'Hunter x Hunter' fanfiction often feels like peeling back layers of a twisted, yet fascinating dynamic. Writers tend to focus on their mutual obsession, blending it with themes of power, control, and manipulation. Hisoka’s flamboyant unpredictability contrasts sharply with Illumi’s cold, calculated demeanor, creating a tension that’s both electric and unsettling. I’ve read stories where their interactions are a game of cat and mouse, each trying to outwit the other while secretly craving the other’s approval. Some fics delve into their shared history, imagining scenarios where they trained together or crossed paths in the Zoldyck family’s shadowy world. These narratives often highlight their emotional detachment, portraying them as two sides of the same coin—both incapable of forming genuine connections yet drawn to each other’s chaos. The best fics don’t shy away from their darker traits, instead using them to craft a relationship that’s as compelling as it is disturbing. I’ve seen interpretations where Hisoka’s obsession with strength mirrors Illumi’s fixation on duty, creating a bond that’s both toxic and oddly symbiotic. It’s a testament to the complexity of their characters that fanfiction can explore so many facets of their relationship, from rivalry to reluctant partnership.
What stands out to me is how writers balance their psychological complexity with moments of vulnerability. In some stories, Hisoka’s playful exterior cracks, revealing a deeper loneliness that only Illumi seems to understand. Conversely, Illumi’s stoic facade occasionally falters, hinting at a buried desire for freedom from his family’s expectations. These moments of introspection add depth to their relationship, making it more than just a clash of personalities. I’ve also come across fics that explore their physicality as an extension of their psychological games, using intimacy as another battlefield. It’s a bold approach that underscores the intensity of their connection, blending passion with danger in a way that feels true to their characters. For anyone interested in this dynamic, I’d recommend looking for fics that delve into their shared history or reimagine their interactions in alternate universes. These stories often provide fresh insights into their relationship, offering a deeper understanding of what makes them so captivating.

One of the most debated plotlines in 'Hunter x Hunter' is the Chimera Ant arc. It’s a polarizing topic because it’s so different from the rest of the series. The arc is darker, more philosophical, and slower-paced, which some fans love for its depth and emotional weight. Others find it dragging, especially with the narrator’s constant interruptions. The moral ambiguity of characters like Meruem and Komugi also sparks endless discussions. Is Meruem truly redeemed? Was the arc’s length justified? These questions keep fans arguing.
Another hotly debated moment is the Greed Island arc. Some see it as a refreshing change with its game-like structure and focus on Gon and Killua’s growth. Others criticize it for feeling too detached from the main storyline. The card mechanics and rules are either seen as clever or overly complicated. Plus, the introduction of Biscuit Krueger divides opinions—some find her training methods inspiring, while others think they’re unnecessarily harsh.
Lastly, the unresolved plot threads, like Gyro’s story and the Dark Continent, are a constant source of frustration and speculation. Fans are desperate for closure, but the hiatuses make it feel like we’ll never get answers. It’s a love-hate relationship with Togashi’s storytelling—brilliant but painfully incomplete.

Exploring the emotional depth of Gon’s journey in 'Hunter x Hunter' through adult fanworks can be surprisingly nuanced. Some stories focus on his guilt and trauma after the Chimera Ant arc, portraying his struggle to reconnect with Killua. These fics often weave intimacy into moments of vulnerability, like Gon breaking down and seeking comfort in Killua’s arms. The emotional weight of his choices—his obsession with Pitou, his reckless use of Nen—is amplified in these narratives. Writers delve into how his actions strain his bond with Killua, creating tension that’s both heartbreaking and raw. I’ve seen works where Gon’s self-destructive tendencies are mirrored in his physical relationships, highlighting his internal conflict. The best ones balance explicit content with genuine emotional storytelling, making Gon’s journey feel human and relatable.
Another angle I’ve noticed is the exploration of Gon’s relationships beyond Killua. Some fics focus on his dynamic with Kurapika, using their shared pain as a foundation for connection. These stories often touch on themes of trust and healing, showing how Gon’s emotional turmoil impacts those around him. I’ve also come across works that reimagine his relationship with Hisoka, blending danger and desire in a way that reflects Gon’s chaotic nature. These narratives don’t shy away from the darker aspects of his character, making them compelling reads for fans who appreciate psychological depth.
