I believe that ‘Moriarty the Patriot’ is complete at 19 volumes in Japan. The series is currently still being translated into English, so there may be some delay in getting the final parts to readers. I am currently reading a revenge story called ‘The Villainess Wants To Make Baby First, Revenge Later!’ The story is simply about a woman who wants to have a child first and then deal with all the people who wronged her. It’s a very interesting take on typical revenge stories.

‘Moriarty the Patriot’ is totally addictive. I just found out the manga finished in Japan with 19 volumes. It totally reimagines the background of Sherlock Holmes’ nemesis Moriarty in a totally fresh way – the two brothers as vigilantes in 19th century Victorian England wiping out corruption in the noble classes. It reads really fast, so I ended up reading the whole thing in a weekend. It’s a very satisfying read and the finale of Volume 19 was great. I didn’t want to give away too much, but the final confrontation with Sherlock was great.

It’s really cool, a super quick and engaging read for people who like gray morality in protagonists. It’s been fully translated and released by Viz Media in English. The anime only covers like half of the book though, and really doesn’t go into much of James’ psychological inner workings. Takeuchi Ryosuke, the author, of ‘Moriarty the Patriot’ is also the author of ‘Hidarikiki no Eren’, a really great story about another character as well. It would be really cool to see more classic literature done in a similar style to how this has been done.

Counted the number of tankobon for “Moriarty the Patriot” on my shelf: 19 volumes. The story starts out like a heist, but goes in a completely different and tragic direction. Later story arcs develop William Moriarty’s world views, which will haunt you, but in a good way.

It’s a 19 volume series. But the actual reading experience is countless re-reads. I have read the whole series three times now. Every time I can discover new details in the dialogues and artwork. Already in the first 5 volumes of the series, there is great foreshadowing of the endgame. Small gestures and seemingly insignificant words and background details of the characters are picked up by the reader much later and have a massive impact. It’s a writer’s manga – highly plotted. All 19 volumes read by the reader as one long narrative. Therefore it’s not a series that can be read randomly. All volumes have to be read from start to end to get the maximum impact. Reading the whole series from start to end as an investment for the reader in a richly layered story is something I am extremely jealous of!

Nineteen volumes was the perfect length for our book club. My local manga club took six months to read it, reading three volumes per meeting. The series sparked some of the best discussions our club has had so far. We got to discuss the ethics of Moriarty’s actions, analyze the historical references, and even try to predict how the series would end (most of us were wrong). A series that’s too short doesn’t have enough content for discussion, but a series that’s too long is difficult to schedule for a book club. All in all, a thought-provoking series to read with your friends. Just be prepared for some heated discussions regarding justice and whether the ends justify the means.

How many volumes does 'I Want to Eat Your Pancreas' manga have?

3 Answers2026-04-18
The manga adaptation of 'I Want to Eat Your Pancreas' is a beautiful, heart-wrenching story that really digs into the emotional depths of its characters. It was serialized in 'Shounen Magazine Edge' and later compiled into two tankobon volumes. The first volume covers the initial meeting between the protagonist and Sakura, while the second wraps up their bittersweet journey. I love how the manga expands on the original light novel's themes, especially with the artwork capturing those quiet, intimate moments. It's one of those stories that lingers in your mind long after you finish it—definitely worth picking up if you're into poignant, character-driven narratives. What’s interesting is how the manga manages to balance humor and tragedy so effortlessly. Sakura’s vibrant personality shines through the pages, making the emotional payoff even more impactful. The two-volume format feels just right—compact enough to binge in an afternoon but dense enough to leave a lasting impression. If you’ve only watched the anime or read the novel, the manga offers a fresh perspective with its visual storytelling.

How many volumes are in A Silent Voice manga?

The manga 'A Silent Voice' by Yoshitoki Ōima is a beautiful, emotional journey that really stuck with me. It originally ran from 2013 to 2014 in 'Weekly Shōnen Magazine' and was later compiled into seven tankōbon volumes. What I love about this series is how it tackles heavy themes like bullying, redemption, and communication with such raw honesty. The way Shoya’s growth is portrayed across those volumes feels so organic—it’s one of those stories where every chapter adds something vital. I’d also mention that Kodansha released an English version, and the physical copies are gorgeous. The seventh volume even includes some bonus content, like author notes and extra illustrations, which fans (myself included) totally geek out over. If you’re into stories that leave you thinking long after the last page, this one’s a must-read.

How many volumes are in Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan series?

I got hooked on 'Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan' a few years back, and it’s one of those series that feels like a hidden gem. The manga, written by Hiroshi Shiibashi, has a total of 25 volumes. It’s a fantastic blend of supernatural action and Japanese folklore, with Rikuo Nura’s journey as a half-yokai leader being the heart of the story. The art style is gorgeous, especially how Shiibashi draws the yokai—some designs are downright eerie, others weirdly charming. What I love is how the series balances epic battles with quieter character moments. The later volumes dive deeper into the Yokai world’s politics, and the final arc wraps things up satisfyingly, though I wouldn’t mind more spin-offs. If you’re into folklore-inspired stories like 'GeGeGe no Kitaro' or 'InuYasha,' this is a must-read.

How many volumes are in the SailorMoon book series?

I checked a few manga databases to confirm. The original First Edition Tankoubon had 18 volumes. Later a Renewed Tankoubon edition was published in 2003 in 18 volumes as well. It is only with the so-called ‘perfect’ or ‘collector’s’ editions that the number of volumes starts to vary. For the purpose of this thread, however, we are talking about the original manga as first released, translated into dozens of languages and read by millions of people worldwide to create a global phenomenon. These are great for new readers in omnibus editions, which are even more affordably priced and published on better paper. But for the collector of old manga or for the manga purist these 18 volumes are what he or she is looking for. The casual reader of manga who only wants to read the story, on the other hand, can opt for any complete edition that contains the above mentioned 18 volumes of manga.

How many chapters are in Codename Anastasia Vol. 1?

10 Answers2025-12-30
In serialized stories, each installment is read one by one. But once a story is a volume, that is where the real artist expression is. ‘Codename Anastasia’ is 28 chapters of rising action and growing character development. The first chapter introduces the reader to Anastasia in mid-op. Immediately the reader understands the high stakes and is also introduced to the main character’s rules, her fears, and her mission. Each subsequent chapter builds on what has already been introduced. The last chapter of the first mission is not only thrilling, it is also a huge shift in the story as a whole for our main character. It is a great lesson in how to write the first volume of a long series of stories. And the chapter count was a natural byproduct of how the story was written.

How many chapters does Blossom of the White Night have?

And if you’re buying this, then please purchase the official digital or printed release. This will have the correct number of chapters and will be supporting the authors. The exact number of chapters isn’t really relevant here, as it can vary depending on the source you’re reading from. What really matters is the quality of the translation and whether or not it is complete.

Where do the Maximum Ride manga volumes fit into the novel reading order?

5 Answers2026-07-25
The manga is non-canon to the novel series. Thus it has no place in the novel reading order. It's supplementary material. If you are the kind of completionist who reads everything, start with the novels. They are the source of the story. Then you can read the manga as a great and unique interpretation of the world and characters. But read it afterwards or as you read the novels, not as an insert between two novels. Each has its own pace and its own surprises. Read the novels for the story. Read the manga for the wonderful illustrations of the Flock in flight and in battle.

How does silent manga omnibus 2 differ from volume one?

7 Answers2025-11-06
All of the character expressions are beautifully rendered in Volume two. As Silent Film actors had to be so broad and theatrical, Wendy has worked in the opposite spectrum finding a beautiful mid-point between subtle and expressing clearly. You can read the smallest tilt of the head or faintest of smiles and even look into the eyes of the character and see a universe of sadness there. You become a more perceptive reader of all visual story telling as a result.

Where to read Ascendance of a Bookworm (Manga) Part 2 Volume 7 online?

Are the coin-back for BookWalker’s purchases being updated for current purchases? I know on occasion they have special coin-back for certain series or for a limited time. I’m purchasing Bookworm in print but collecting in manga form for a friend who’s purchasing the entire run. I’d like to know if the accumulated coin-back can help offset some of the cost of the manga and discount future purchases. It is somewhat of a meta-game, but for long running series it can be worth investigating the loyalty programs of each platform and starting your collection on the one which offers the best. Kindle does not have any kind of equivalent program, while Kobo offers occasional coupons. Google Play and Apple iBooks do not currently offer any kind of rewards program for frequent buyers. BookWalker’s system is very explicitly designed to reward frequent buyers of books. So, if you’re in it for the long haul, start your collection of ‘Bookworm’ on BookWalker. How many chapters does Kiss the Scumbag have?

Just here to read comments on this series. There are some really passionate people here. I've never read a manhua before, but this seems like a good starting point since it's a completed 72-chapter series. Is it mostly romance or are there lots of action/fantasy elements as well? This series title is funny.
