That would be so much great content for me. A secret podcast where they could just read out all the different fan made theories for their relationship and be all laugh about them.

It’s that time of year again, folks. The quarterly delineation and analysis of Cillian Murphy’s lifestyle choices and rumored same-sex activities can now resume. The same five viewpoints on the subject shall, undoubtedly, be spewed forth by fans of the talented actor. I have one additional theory that has not yet been posited to explore in subsequent debates, however: Cillian Murphy is a time-traveling vampire.

In 'Stray Kids', there's a lot of speculation about members' sexual orientations, but they don't openly identify anyone specifically as gay. Fans often love to ship members, creating various narratives and moments that feel intimate. Hyunjin and Felix seem to have a strong bond that ignites the imagination, but ultimately, it's their music and dynamics that keep us attached. Every member brings unique charm and energy, so let's celebrate their talent above all!

I have seen this same exact thing happen with other large content creators like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye in the past. Their fandoms would get into these crazy and often nonsensical debates about completely unverified information. It was all so weird and really only served to distract from the amazing content the creators were actually producing. Eventually though, most fan communities come to realize that these types of discussions are a drain on the community and eventually have to come to a place of establishing norms around what types of discussions are acceptable. I really hope that this community can skip all of that and establish the very obvious and healthy norm early on that we do not speculate about the private lives of creators.

I don’t think we’re asking the right question here. Instead of asking ‘is he gay?’ we should be asking ‘why are we forcing people into boxes’? Lando Norris is more than just his sexuality, whatever that may be. I think we’d all be better off not treating him as if he’s only one thing and instead trying to understand the whole human being in front of us. His sexuality or lack of it is one tiny part of this complex human being. You can bet that Lando is so much more than this, as a gamer, a competitor, a funny bloke, a son, a friend, a brand ambassador and one of the best F1 drivers in the world. The fact that all people can see about him is one tiny thread in the whole complex tapestry of this man, and that we focus on it is like only looking at the frame of a masterpiece and only commenting on it.

The actress has often chosen films that challenge gender stereotypes and bring complex female characters to life, such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the forthcoming adaptation of Little Women. Her affiliation with these films may provide some insight into her personal perspectives, but equally it may simply reveal her to be a thoughtful and versatile actress with a taste for meaningful roles. An actor's filmography is not a secret code that can reveal their true identity. It’s their body of work, a portfolio that speaks to their skill as an actor. We should not look at an actor’s work trying to uncover personal information about them.

Anthony Padilla has also said in a Q&A session that he is straight. He has also had relationships that were made public a few times with women, one who is another YouTuber (Kalel Cullen) and a beauty vlogger Mykie (Glam&Gore). However, we must all remember that in the final analysis, it is none of our business when strangers wish their affairs toend up. Every person deserves his or her own secrets and respectful treatment.

Surprisingly, my first thought was to connect it to music. I had come across a very popular audio clip on TikTok a few months ago. It was a short soft indie melody and the caption was “Aurora gay vibes“. The clip was often used as background music for slideshows of moody, romantic BL manhwa panels as well as beautiful fanmade edits of couple scenes from dramas such as “Given“. So “Aurora gay” might actually refer to a small micro-aesthetic that is being presented on social media right now, consisting of pastel colors, soft lighting, and melancholic but hopeful queer romance scenes.

I get that our cultural moment is one in which we demand authenticity from our celebrities and then devour their private lives as content. But Omar is offering something different, authentic art rather than authentic biography. His work is his truth as expressed through a character, a song, a performance. That’s healthier. People can get enough of truth and connection from an artist’s work instead of from their dating app profile. His stance, whether on purpose or not, challenges the part of fandom that’s a voyeur. We have to relate to the work he created instead of to him. And that has a lot of integrity to it, which I admire a lot.

A lot of young actors have played iconic queer characters before him. Some of them have been openly queer since the beginning, others came out later in life, and some of them are still in the closet. Each of their paths is valid and worth to be recognized. The pressure on Edvin is clearly higher because Young Royals hit a cultural nerve in a way that few other productions have, and he has been absolutely phenomenal in playing Simon. The wish of his audience to see him and Omar, his on-screen love interest, as a real-life couple is almost too much to bear. The fans’ desire to see the two of them together is, however, a perfect storm of extreme fandom. History has shown us time and time again that trying to force queer actors out of the closet only ends badly. When they do come out, it has to be on their own terms, at a time and in a way that they deem appropriate. Until then, our job as fans is to support the artist and the art, not to try to organize the artist’s coming-out. We have to be content with admiring the portrait without demanding to meet the painter’s muse.
