My rule of thumb for any series: always read in publication order. Authors release stories in the order they want the information to be revealed. The 'Kingdom of the Wicked' series is no exception. The core emotional journey is Emilia's, and that's contained in the three novels. The novellas are delightful expansions, but they were conceived and released after the main arc was complete. Trust the publication timeline.

I read 'Kingdom of the Wicked: Skies' thinking it was the sequel to 'Kingdom of the Cursed'. I was so confused for the first few chapters until I realized it was a different character's perspective from a different time. The title similarity tripped me up. So for clarity: 'Kingdom of the Cursed' is novel #2. 'Kingdom of the Wicked: Skies' is a novella that comes after it. The colon makes all the difference!

Wait, are we counting the ebook original short stories too? Because there's also 'Kingdom of the Wicked: Rules' which is like a prequel-ish scene from Envy's perspective. The core novel/novella list everyone agrees on is five items. But if you're a completionist, the reading order gets even more granular with these bonus scenes, usually found in special editions or online. For the standard experience, just focus on the three novels and two titled novellas.

***This is the third book in the series***
I lost the girl, the love of my life.
I lost my family.
Now I’m lost.
I thought after the war for Riocht, life would get back to normal.
I was so very, very wrong.
Kellen, now King of the werewolves, thought after Lamia and Mathias claimed the throne and became the King and Queen of shifters, life would go on as normal. That he would rule his kingdom and search for his own mate and live happily ever after.
There was still so much to do. He still hadn’t completely taken control of his position as King, leaving his father’s Beta and Delta in charge. Kingdoms and packs still needed to be repaired; he still needed to be officially crowned.
And he still needed to grieve the death of his parents.
Kellen wakes up to find himself on a boat, going to Goddess knows where and the last thing he remembers is saying goodbye to Lamia and heading home with Mike.
When he finds himself in a strange land, sold to a bloody thirsty Alpha and his deranged Luna, for their packs entertainment, his title, means nothing. A man who cares only for three things; the games, the money, and blood; the more shed the better.
While Lamia and Mike search for him on the wrong continent Kellen is thrust into the Gladiator games. Kellen fights for his survival and the lives of many, including one beautiful girl who has captured his heart and has been promised to another as their chosen mate.
Can Kellen survive the Gladiator games when the odds are stacked against him, save the people and claim the mate the moon goddess promised him?
**This is book 3 in The Delta's Daughter series**

Soleil Summer is a rather ordinary 17 year old School girl, a bit shy and unassuming … at least until her world is turned upside down. First she meets the very handsome Luca, the New boy in school … and she also can’t help but notice the alluring King of the vampire goths.
And then of course there is the fact that on her 18th birthday a coven of witches comes to knock on her door.
Soleil is a witch, fated to kill the werewolves, what she doesn’t know is that her beloved Luca is a wolf and her mate, a mate she has to kill to break the ancient curse.
And in the background the dark one, an immense evil power lurks, and he has his eyes on Soleil.
This is a full series of 3 books in one … each New book starts with a chapter marked 1.
Warning: Every chapter starting with *The vampire* may contain violent murders and kinky sex
These are the tales society whispers about but never dares to speak aloud: the aching pull of step-parents and step-children, the dangerous heat of family secrets, and the kind of love that thrives in shadows. From scorching heterosexual passion to steamy lesbian and gay encounters, every flavor of forbidden ecstasy awaits.
Here, rules are shattered.
Hearts betray reason. Characters surrender to the raw, uncontrollable urge to touch what they shouldn’t, step-fathers, step-mothers, blood-bound temptations, and every wicked variation in between.
This is not gentle romance. This is wild, sinful, unapologetic lust wrapped in love. A dance on the razor’s edge between control and chaos, guilt and surrender.
Between the crushing weight of sin and the sweet sting of redemption, these lovers become entangled in secrets, temptation, and pleasure so intense it borders on madness.
Because sometimes the most dangerous thing isn’t the sin itself…
The audiobook versions might influence order for some people. The novellas have their own narrations, and I think hearing them after the main books can be a lovely, intimate experience. It's like listening to a secret history. The vocal performances add another layer to the sisters' relationship. If you're an audiobook person, consider treating them as a bonus after the trilogy—a little extra content for your commute.
I see a lot of people asking this, and the answer hasn't changed. It's a trilogy. One, two, three. 'Kingdom of the Wicked'. 'Kingdom of the Cursed'. 'Kingdom of the Feared'. Anything else is supplementary. The novella 'Throne of the Fallen' is a separate story with different main characters, though set in the same universe. You can technically read it anytime after the trilogy, but it's not required to understand Emilia's journey. Why is this so confusing? Maybe the similar titles? But really, just look at the numbers on the spines or in the series description online.
I've seen this pop up in 'Romantasy' TikTok guides, and they always list it as a trilogy in order. It's considered a staple in the genre now. The reason it works so well is because of that tight, three-book structure. There's no filler. Every book advances the core plot and relationship. So reading them in order gives you the perfect, complete package of magic, revenge, and romance. It's a masterclass in how to plot a satisfying fantasy romance trilogy across three volumes.
It's a trilogy. The definition of a trilogy is three works intended to be consumed in a specific sequence to tell one overarching story. 'Kingdom of the Wicked' fits that definition perfectly. Therefore, the order is implicitly defined by its nature as a trilogy.
While some series are more episodic, this is a continuous saga where each book directly continues the plot threads of the previous one.
Confirmed: Book 3. The series gets progressively more focused on the politics of Hell. 'Wicked' is a murder mystery with fantasy elements. 'Cursed' is a travelogue through the demon realms. 'Feared' is a political thriller set in the courts of Hell. That progression makes sense for Emilia's journey from an outsider to a key player in demonic affairs.
It depends if you're a binge-reader or a savorer. If you're going to binge all three (or four) books in a row, timeline order might work because you'll hold all the intricate details in your head. If you're reading with breaks in between, publication order is safer. The main trilogy is a tight, continuous story. Reading the prequel first, then taking a break before starting the trilogy, might mean you forget subtle details that connect. The trilogy is designed to be read consecutively. Inserting a long gap between the prequel and 'Kingdom of the Wicked' could weaken the connective tissue.
The character development is so sequential. Emilia in book one is reactive and grieving. In book two, she's calculating and learning power. In book three, she's commanding and resolving. You can't appreciate her arc without seeing each stage. The book order is the blueprint for her transformation.
Honestly, I just read them in publication order and it worked perfectly. The author released the main 'Wicked' trilogy first, then the 'Cursed' duology. Reading them that way means you experience the world as it was revealed to everyone else. The spinoffs assume you have knowledge from the original books, even if they focus on new protagonists. There are little references and deeper implications you'd completely gloss over if you tried to mix the series together in some fan timeline. Publication order is almost always the safest bet for any series with spinoffs, and this is no exception. It preserves the intended reveals and emotional payoff.
