For Baldur's Gate 2, the main romanceable females are Jaheira, Viconia, Aerie, and Anomen. (As you get to know them through dialogue and through completing the main story for each of them for quests.) I just finished reading ‘My Second Chance Mate is a Barbarian’. (Totally different from Baldur’s Gate 2.) It is a fantasy romance where the main character has gotten some sort of magical do-over, and instead of getting to re-live and re-do the relationships with her whole party, she gets to re-do and forge a relationship with a single, fierce, and rather reluctant warrior from a rival clan to her own. Much, much more focused on the two of them than all of the rest of the party combined.

Romancing in BG2, as opposed to mere flirting and conversation, is deeply emotional and often digs up old wounds. I was given a glimpse into Aerie’s backstory and was forced to relive her pain with her. Of course, Viconia is another story entirely. At first she comes across as tough as nails but her true vulnerabilities are slowly revealed. As is the case with many of the romances, there is a lot of growing up to do before things can be ‘happily ever after’ with her. Jaheira’s feels so much like rekindling a romance that I had previously left behind in Adventures (as it was there too). Of course, that means that for much of the time it feels rather same-old same-old. Anomen is another story entirely – an acquired taste, no doubt, but his LVN stick-up-the-butt quality does ease up after a while, should you happen to call him out on it. Many, unfortunately, of the potential romances that there are in the game are not available to same-sex couples (a disappointment, but of course addressed by the wonderful world of BG2 mods). One thing to note is that some of the romances are mutually exclusive – I have left the player to find out for themselves whether or not to try to pick up Viconia and Aerie in the tavern, for example. My hot take? Viconia is the best story arc of the lot, and can be especially satisfying should you chose to guide her along a path of redemption.

There are so many romances in BG2. Aerie is a "broken bird" type - cute, but needy. Viconia is "enemies to lovers" if you can handle her being Sharran. Jaheira is a "widow learning to love again" story which is very heart-wrenching if you played through BG1. Then there's Anomen who is a pompous arse in the beginning but can be a knightly redemption story which is kind of sweet. Mods add lots more option, but vanilla has tons of options too, for example, you can try to romance Dorn if you play as female. He's a "bad boy with a heart of... bronze".

The romances in BG2 are so iconic for a reason: Aerie is all sweet but kind of cloying, Viconia all prickly but incredibly profound, Jaheira stable and trustworthy as all get out, and Anomen... well, he grows on you like mold. Each of the governors has certain triggers that affect them in different ways. Ignoring Anomen's family problems and taking Viconia's trust-builiding moments for granted will have negative effects on her in particular. The writing is so very dense with reactivity that replaying is very rewarding. Of course, the mod "Solaufein" is a fandom legend, for good reason. My own personal favorite is Jaheira - her dry humor and her loyalty make her my default "ride-or-die".

There are several main plot romances in Baldur's Gate 2. My personal favorites are Aerie (troubled gentle Avariel elf who lost her wings), Viconia (defiant dark elf cleric with tons of pain in her past), and Jaheira (troubled Mul Astrogiante Anointed Warrior searching for closure from past her path of violent crusading for T admiershtbankevil– this gives a clear sense that Jaheira's romance option plotline feels quite mature, committed as it is to dealing with the awful grief of loss and finding her way through. Anomen is possibly worse than Jaheira here, as his 'romance option' is annoying half the time – but his arrogance is so utterly overbearing that it somehow grows on you in the end.

The best part of the companion romances is that they link into their personal quests – Aerie’s is about her self-worth, Viconia’s is about trust, Jaheira’s is about two old souls finding comfort in each other. The writing is so excellent that even though this game is decades old, these storylines hold up extremely well. So, my favorite to pursue in romance is Viconia – there is just something so rewarding about stripping away her shell of bitterness.

Can you romance Viconia in BG2?

6 Answers2026-03-28
I really appreciate that her romance doesn't fall into the "fix her" trope, which is so overdone. The best outcomes for her are probably when her love meets her halfway. So your character can become more practical and less foolishly naive to the world's cruelties. And Viconia can learn that not all surface-dwellers are pompous sentimental fools who will inevitably betray her. It's a mutual growing process, not a redemption story. Even in the 'better' ends, Viconia is still very much herself: sharp, suspicious, powerful Viconia. Not some tamed, softened companion love interest. That would be terrible. All companion romances should be treated this way.

Which p3r romance options are fan favorites and why?

Ultimately, the "best" romance in the game is whatever each individual player wants it to be. And honestly, that's what makes this system so wonderful. Rather than forcing one "perfect" romance on every player, the various storylines and connections work so well because they can be meaningful to so many different people in so many different ways. Really, the true "fan favorite" of the various storylines in the game is how it allows for so much personal, emotional connection with characters in the Dark Hour, and that players can experience their time in that world in uniquely personal ways, even in which characters they choose to spend their limited time with.

Can you romance Lae'zel and Shadowheart in BG3?

9 Answers2025-08-15
The polyamory option is very specific and needs to be completed in a very specific order, mostly following the drow twins in Act 3. As opposed to other true throuples, this is a one time, very consensual arrangement. Trying to continue two full romances without this trigger will eventually blow up in your face.

What are the consequences of multiple romances in BG3?

When you’re trying to resist the Dark Urge to become evil in a story, being in a loyal romance is your strongest storyteller mechanic to remain good. Your partner can talk you down from the edge, prevent certain scenarios from playing out and even help write you out of sticky situations. Burning that bridge by cheating on them, however, removes that check on your behavior and has far-reaching consequences that can even alter the soul of your protagonist and change the ending for you.

Are there offline converter to epub options?

9 Answers2025-07-11
Why would you want to convert documents to read on your eReader? Most reading apps these days, including Google Play Books on Android and Apple Books on iOS, allow you to add PDF and DOC files to your library on the web, and they will magically convert them for you. (Seamlessly, for free, and, amazingly, often well.) But you asked for an offline method, so we can discount the cloud-based approach entirely. Why? Because you probably need to keep your files local for privacy, lack of internet, or because you’re working with sensitive documents. In such cases, converting within a local application is the only way to go — although the results from cloud conversion are often surprisingly good, and require zero effort on your part. Offline conversion gives you complete control over the conversion process and resulting file, but you have to manage the application and all its settings yourself.

What choices affect emperor romance in BG3?

6 Answers2026-07-27
One exception to purely pragmatic play is the vulnerable moment of the dream after learning its story. The Emperor drops its guard and asks for something real. All other choices had to gain sufficient approval to have these options revealed. Here you open a door with choices like “What do you want from me?” or “We could be more than allies.” Responding there with cold suspicion causes the door to slam shut. But responding with appropriate curiosity and possibly some longing causes the door to open.

Are there free trial options for novels on vitalsource?

4 Answers2025-05-12
Yes, VitalSource offers free trials for many of their novels. For example, I tried out ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ by Casey McQuiston through a VitalSource trial. The way the trial worked for me was that I got to read the beginning of the book (about 1/3 or so), and then I could decide whether or not I wanted to continue with the full book. Trials are useful to test drive new authors and genres before you purchase them and VitalSource has done a good job of offering trials for many of their novels even if not all. I would recommend checking out the list of available e-books to see what is currently on offer.

How does emperor romance work in BG3's storyline?

4 Answers2025-10-05
One of the things I loved about getting into it with the Emperor in 'Baldur's Gate 3' was the real and weird mix of desire and fear he inspired from the very start. Oh boy, was I excited to see this story unfold. Building up a romance in this game isn’t about pouring out endearments and getting giggly and drooly in between. Instead there’s a lot of burden and a lot of choice to ponder while you’re having these moments of warmth and desire. It feels a lot like balancing on the edge of a knife – and risk everything crashing to the floor at any moment! I do very much enjoy the choices I make influence the Empire’s fascinating Emporer and how our romance evolves in ways that are both genuinely wonderful and tense. It’s very engaging to play, and very real too – and not just a bunch of physical affection by any means. He’s very much part of the main story – and none of it is easy at all. A true rollercoaster of emotions, choices, and surprises – and I never wanted it to end! How could anyone not fall for him?!

Are there subscription options for purchasing books on nook?

11 Answers2025-07-03
the subscription options are pretty solid if you're a heavy reader. Barnes & Noble offers 'Nook Unlimited,' which is their answer to Kindle Unlimited. For a monthly fee, you get access to a massive library of ebooks, including bestsellers, classics, and niche titles. It's not every single book in the store, but the selection is impressive. I love how it lets me binge-read series without buying each book individually. The coolest part? You can try it free for 30 days to see if it fits your reading habits. They also have 'Nook Audiobooks,' which works like Audible but integrates seamlessly with the Nook ecosystem. If you're into audiobooks, this is a game-changer—especially since you can switch between reading and listening without losing your place. The subscriptions aren't perfect—some newer releases take a while to appear—but for voracious readers, they’re a budget-friendly way to keep your TBR pile overflowing.

Are there mods to enhance Shadowheart romance in BG3?

13 Answers2026-07-26
For a more complete experience, remember the sound. There are various music mods which add songs to certain scenes. Some mods add ambient camp dialogue as well. For example, a soft romantic song for Natasha in her Act 2 scene could greatly change the feel of that scene instead of using the regular camp music. There are also small voice barks (none too long or out of place) added for combat and exploration alike, which make her feel even more present in the story. These various mods enhance the atmosphere of the existing story and are meant to complete the world in which the romance story takes place, rather than replacing the core of the story with an alternate version of events. And sometimes mood equals words.
