A thrilling read! Although Seven Dirty Secrets is a thriller, it is not normally my cup of tea, but for some reason I was completely drawn into this book with its very messy characters. The main character is no some sort of super clever sleuth, she is just a scared kid trying to survive. Her search for the secrets of the seven dirty secrets was very emotionally driven and the way in which the secrets were slowly revealed was cinematic and wonderful. I did have to roll my eyes at a couple of the twists, including one that I saw coming a mile off, but overall the book was a great read. The queer content was also very natural and not forced in for the sake of it.

This is a great teenage drama type of book – full of betrayal and things that will make you go “gasping”. The secrets were more scandalous than I expected. My only complaint is that it ended a bit too perfectly for my taste, but that was an amazing journey. I read this on my library e-book and I needed to purchase it so that I could highlight all of the fabulous foreshadowing.

I picked up ‘Seven Dirty Secrets’ on a whim and it was amazing. A twisty thriller is always something I’m looking for in a book and this did not fail. It reads similar to how I would imagine a story to read if it was a text message from a friend in the middle of the night. ‘I’ll just read one more chapter’ is something I have heard many people say before when reading this book, and it’s something that I said myself many times throughout the day until the sun came up.

What I love most about Seven Dirty Secrets is the way the author toys with the reader's trust. You think you know the secondary characters, but you really don't. The setting of an abandoned and creepy Carnival is the perfect backdrop for this twisted novel. Fans of One of Us Is Lying but looking for something darker and edgier will love this. I finished it in one sitting and immediately handed it over to my sister...and she hasn't slept since.

I would categorize this as fun but flawed. The idea of a birthday scavenger hunt that goes terribly wrong is fantastic and at first, the book was very tight. About halfway through, however, there were some really obvious flaws in the plot, but overall it was a really fun read. The dialogue was great and really felt like real teens. Their friendships and their rivalries were all very well done, too. The angst was all very real and relatable. While it wasn’t “Gone Girl”-esque in terms of it being completely mind-blowing, it was a really fun read for a lazy afternoon. The last chapter of this still lives rent-free in my head.

Is Twisted Love: A Dark Romance worth reading?

5 Answers2026-01-21
Twisted Love is one of those ‘guilty pleasure’ reads for me. I wouldn’t describe it as high literature but it’s a very engrossing, (almost) soap-like story. I’m not going to pretend it’s a great read but it’s very compelling in a ‘oh my God, how bad is he going to be?’ kind of way. (Very. Extremely. The things he does…). It’s not for newbies to dark romance, but for existing fans of the genre, it’s a decent read and well worth adding to your TBR pile.

Is 'He's an Alpha: She doesn't Care' worth reading?

Does the author write any other stories? Are they a debut writer? Even if they aren’t, every writer starts somewhere. If the author has written a portfolio of trope-driven stories that their audience loves, then this will read exactly like they expect. I haven’t gone and checked out the author’s other works, but from reading this story, it’s clear that they have a solid grasp of the various conventions of the story, and are writing it within those strictures. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good read – rather, that it’s a solid example of this type of story. And for some readers, that’s the highest praise of all.

Is Between the Ocean and the Stars worth reading?

I borrowed this book to my three friends and each of them texted me at 2AM asking for more. This book gets under your skin. The prose is very simple, but with great precision, just like the author chose every comma intentionally. The themes of redemption and forgiveness are embedded in the story without being heavy-handed. It is melancholic. I wouldn’t call it depressing, though. It’s a very melancholic book. It will make you want to stay up all night and then stare at the ceiling thinking about your own “oceans” and “stars”. Worth reading? Yes.

Where can I read 'Secret Class' online?

There are so many places to read series like these that can get taken down or removed at a moment’s notice, though. The sites that host fan translations get DMCA’ed constantly. Following specific scanlation groups on Discord or their private forums for a series is usually the best bet. You can often get links to where to read the most current chapter in a channel when it comes out. It may require a bit more effort to just bookmark a site to read than to follow a link, but this is how the community reads. It’s best not to rely on a single public aggregator for a long period of time. They tend to be the first to get taken down.

Where can I read 'The Housemaid's Secret' for free?

I stumbled upon 'The Housemaid's Secret' while browsing Free Books Hub last month—it’s a goldmine for thrillers. The site aggregates free eBooks legally, often from authors promoting their work. Just search the title, and you’ll find EPUB or PDF versions. Some public libraries also loan digital copies via apps like Libby; I borrowed it through mine after a short wait. If you don’t mind ads, platforms like Wattpad occasionally feature similar suspense novels, though availability varies. Avoid shady sites offering 'free downloads'—they usually violate copyrights. Stick to legitimate sources to support the author while enjoying the book risk-free.

Where can I read 'Two Little Secrets From My Boss'?

That title sounds familiar to me too. I think it may also be available as a serial on GoodNovel. The number of chapters that have been released may vary between sites, so it’s worth checking out both to see how far along it is on each. The reading experience is very similar between the two sites, complete with daily check-in rewards and a system for earning coins. You should look at the reviews of each platform for better translation, since I experienced that one of them had way better translation than the other. It’s a normal office romance with a lot of secrets, so if you like that kind of trope, you’ll definitely read it and get hooked no matter what.

Is Humanity Lost worth reading?

3 Answers2026-03-14
I borrowed ‘Is Humanity Lost’ as I liked the look of the cover. Although it was described as a book about the collapse of society, it felt very personal and most of the book focused on the downfall of individual people. The side characters were particularly well drawn and one of the chapters was from the point of view of a side character in his final days on Earth. It was so raw that I had to put the book down for a while to collect myself. Not a happy book, but if you are in the mood for something more serious and thought-provoking then this is a great choice to read. Just make sure you have something more pleasant to read straight after it though.

Is The Housekeeper's Diary worth reading? Review

12 Answers2026-03-24
I have been seeing this book recommended alongside Under the Oak Tree, but they are really two different kinds of stories. Under the Oak Tree is about a person working through trauma and having really intense emotions – loud, explosive ones. The Housekeeper’s Diary is about a quiet, domestic space and the inner struggle going on to maintain that space, a battle in most cases. Rather than relying on magical power or even a more assertive personality type, the heroine in this book wins because she is patient, very detail-oriented and extremely emotionally intelligent. It is a much more subtle kind of fantasy and does not have the same kind of cathartic release of screaming and crying that can be so satisfying in the face of trauma in a story. But if you are looking for that, then this is not the book for you. Instead, this book finds drama in the minute, in the mundane, and can be a really wonderful read after a long stretch of really intense, high-stakes political intrigue or epic fantasy wars.

Is The Girl in the Basement worth reading? Review

10 Answers2026-02-17
This well-written horror novella was a solid B for me. While it certainly did not break new ground within the genre, it was well-structured and highly engrossing. I particularly enjoyed the author’s use of two timelines: the present day and the years spent locked in a filthy basement by the main antagonist. As expected, the basement scenes were at times claustrophobic, but the author managed to move the plot along regardless. The main antagonist was also effectively creepy without crossing over into ‘villain’ space. My biggest wish would have been for more development of the supporting characters outside of our central family unit. As it was, however, they served their purpose for the brief space of time in which they appeared. As a short, weekend read that will take you exactly where you want to go while proving thoroughly engrossing along the way, it delivers.
