The space between the wrong

The space between the wrong

I was nineteen the first time Cole Whitfield broke me. Not with cruelty. With a single word. Why. Not did you — why. Like the answer was already settled and he just wanted the story to make sense. I told him the truth anyway. He said nothing that mattered. So I picked up my bag, walked out of his apartment, and decided that a man who trusted a rumor over two years of me wasn’t worth a correction. I spent the next two years becoming someone I actually liked. New city. Graduate program. A published paper with my name on it. I was done with Cole Whitfield in every way a person can be done. Then I walked into Seminar Room 114 and he was sitting right there, gray eyes already on the door, like some part of him knew. I sat down. I opened my notebook. I did not look up. Here’s the thing about studying how people form beliefs: you understand exactly why he believed it. That doesn’t mean you forgive it. That doesn’t mean two years of silence disappear because he’s learned how to look at you like he’s sorry. He wants a conversation. I want my degree. But the campus is small, the seminar table is round, and the boy who broke my heart at nineteen is doing everything right at twenty-one — and I’m starting to understand that composed isn’t the same thing as healed. I hate that I still know the exact sound of his voice.

Delusional and Divorced

Delusional and Divorced

I receive news of my husband being hospitalized after accidentally eating mushrooms causing hallucinations. I ignore the pain in my sprained ankle and limp to the hospital. When I enter the hospital ward, my husband sidesteps me. Instead, he excitedly throws his arms around the young woman behind me. "You're finally here, honey! I missed you so much!" The young woman gives me a challenging look. Then, she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him, her face red. They cling to each other and act all lovey-dovey like there's no one with them. After a while, my husband seems to realize I'm there. He scratches his head in embarrassment, looking like a young man who's just fallen in love. "Mom has done a good job in maintaining her appearance, honey. She doesn't look like she's 50 at all."

The breaking point of love

The breaking point of love

synopsis: "I laid everything I had at his feet: my youth, my ambition, my devotion. And how did he repay me? He shattered my heart. He crushed my very soul. When our unborn child died—a loss I wept tears of blood for—he blamed me entirely, washing his hands of me to start fresh, as if I were nothing but a bad memory. Like a soul pushed to the edge of the abyss with nothing left to lose, the Devil was there to catch me. He welcomed me. He seduced me. Torn between the man who stripped me of everything and the man who offers me the world, trapped between an old regret and the intoxicating pull of desire... I have finally reached the point of no return."

A Pretense

A Pretense

When we get too much involved in the act of pretending, we lose the idea of knowing the pretense of others. Isn't that how it works? We don't know the acts we do thinking good for the others even to the extent of hurting them to save them from major hurt will cause them to go through much more than we can think of. Sometimes it is not too late to correct the pretenses but sometimes it is late to amend them. Let's see whether it is too late or just in time.

Where can I read 'Deadly Illusion' for free?

5 Answers2025-06-23
For Deadly Illusion, there aren’t many freebies out there. Keep an eye out for Goodreads giveaways and publisher giveaways. You can also check your local library for e-book copies of Deadly Illusion. Some independent bookstores lend e-book copies too. Steer clear of illegal download sites as they can cause many problems including slow downloads, corrupt files and a guilty conscience.

Where can I read Borderline manhwa online?

7 Answers2026-06-22
Many older readers remember the time of scanlation groups who proudly placed their watermark on the first page of their releases. You used to search for certain groups that were known for their quality. With the growing number of official apps and aggregator sites, which strip their users of all credit for their work, that culture has largely disappeared.

For Borderline, I haven’t seen any notable fan group give it a read. But it’s there, everywhere, anonymously. This removes the translator’s voice from the manga reading experience and the community surrounding a release. Even the official translation reads professionally but is anonymously given to us readers. We’ve become so useable that our loss of connection to the content we read is felt so little. My “where” would be nostalgic for these “fan groups” but for now my practical click is the Webtoon app where Borderline reliably appears.

What happens at the ending of The Breaking Point of Love?

8 Answers2026-01-07
This would make for an amazing ending to a story, as well as an amazing soundtrack. I imagine a super mellow, acoustic, sad song, kept bare with minimal production. A simple voice and guitar would suffice. The song would fade out to nothing, no big, sweeping notes or ending music. The song would just sort of….end. It’s so emotional, and I imagine it to be a totally specific tone: not sad/angry, just tired/sad. Exhausted.

is My Eyes Deceive based on a true story

7 Answers2025-02-06
I can assure you that 'My Eyes Deceive' isn't based on a real-life scenario. It's a piece of fiction from the imagination of its author, offering a captivating narrative, rich character development, and a universe all its own. As most novels of this genre, it takes elements from human experiences and emotions, spinning them in a new, intriguing way.

What are the key themes in out of my mind novel?

11 Answers2026-07-28
There is also much to ponder over in the novel regarding ‘the body as archive’. Although her mind may archive everything else, her body is a living archive of every spasm, of every single grueling therapy session, of every single limitation she has suffered. The stories in her archive must be given a voice. Another major theme is ‘the fragility of belonging’. For a short time our heroine experiences true belonging with her quiz team. But that is brought crashing down to earth in an instant. Belonging is not a fixed state that can be attained. It is a fragile and ongoing negotiation. And it requires constant tending and guarding, above all by those on the margins.

Who are the main characters in The Edge of Darkness?

10 Answers2026-07-28
I love how everyone argues for different main characters in the fandom. The Elias stans love to argue for his redemption arc, the Lyra stans claim she is the emotional heart of the book and her connection to the central conflict is the deepest, the Kaelen fans say he is the glue that holds everything together and has grown the most, and the Grendel enjoyers are just here for the humor of how the humans deal with each other.

What is the plot of manhwa The Absolute Threshold?

9 Answers2026-05-06
As I started reading the first chapter of Ch. 1, the art evolved nicely throughout the chapters, especially in the latter ones. Detailed backgrounds, improved panel compositions and smoother character movements were some of the notable improvements. I especially liked how the artist of Ch. 1 grew into the larger-than-life battles that required epic movements and stances. Moreover, an improved character pose, once stiff, became dynamic and fluid. The detailed and cinematic art really added a lot of value to the storytelling and enhanced the impact of key plot points greatly. If an adaptation were to be made to this manhwa, I think it would actually be better than the source material in terms of sheer spectacle.

Can I read 'Mind the Gap' online for free?

5 Answers2026-03-14
This is an interesting question. From a purely economic perspective, a lot of traffic is driven to “aggregator” websites by the demand for free access to content. These websites have better SEO than the original source of the content (for example, Amazon listings for eBooks), which is why they tend to show up near the top of search results. In a somewhat unpleasant cycle, authors can try to combat this by offering substantial free samples on their own websites in the hope that they will draw sufficient readers into the author’s official sales funnel. Does ‘Mind the Gap’ offer free samples on his website? I’d be interested to know. You might check the author’s social media too. On occasion, he posts free chapter links on Twitter and Discord in order to engage with his readers in a direct manner.

How does The Rift end?

4 Answers2025-12-19
'’The Rift’’ is a mix of happiness and sadness when it comes to the ending of all the buildup and the resolution. It’s not a straightforward good vs. evil but a more complex exploration of choices and their consequences. The last line is simple yet powerful. It’s the kind of line that makes you sit in bed and stare at the ceiling for a long time after you’ve finished reading it.

Is The Edge of America based on a true story?

4 Answers2025-12-23
I remembered that some movies had left a deep mark on me and that “The Edge of America” is not a documentary, even if it treats some real issues like the education gap in some parts of the country, the cultural pride and the role that sports can play to bring people together. Its characters are very believable and real, you can even imagine you meet them some day. The movie is very quiet but very powerful. There are no dramatic dialogues, it’s just very natural and real.
