This author has written some of the hottest spicy scenes in 'Twisted Lies'. What I like about each of these scenes is that they help advance the storyline and relationships in the book. In particular, I love that the female lead takes control in certain situations. She is not a passive character by any means. The author has done an excellent job of building up to the points of intimacy and each touch and glance is felt by the reader. These scenes not only are hot but also reveal a lot of vulnerability on the part of the characters. All in all, a great part of the book!

I love slow burn and ‘Twisted Lies’ is the perfect example of a book where every scene between the two leads is absolute sizzle before they finally give in to each other. My favorite scene in this book is their office encounter. It was so tense and so risky for them and yet so hot. I felt like I was right there with them. The author does such a wonderful job of making the emotional connection between the two characters so real and so, so deep. The physical connection between the two is mirrored perfectly in the emotional one and that makes for one wonderful read. A must-read for me for sure.

The first time that leads Caleb and Nolan give in to their attraction to each other was a high-stakes, emotional moment, and then they reconnect after a fight in this really raw and honest sex scene. There’s so much more to this book than just sex, though. It uses the steamy scenes to further the characters’ relationship and to explore who they are as people. If you’re looking for a romance novel with lots of substance and lots of heat, then Twisted Lies is your book.

This book has got a lot of spice and once you get into it, you won’t be able to put it down! Every scene fits perfectly into the plot and there isn’t any unnecessary content. The author of 'Twisted Lies' is extremely generous when it comes to the sexy time scenes. The main characters have an extremely intense connection, and that tension gets built up perfectly before things finally get released. Each intimate moment in the book is extremely raw and real, and because of the vulnerable moments that also accompany them, each scene feels more than just physical and is extremely well done in terms of blending character development and smut.

The balcony scene in Twisted Lies was SO HOT! Not only was the heat between the two characters amazing, but the author did an excellent job describing the setting in order to create an even more immersive experience. It really did feel like I was right there with them! Of course, as with any good book featuring intimate scenes, there were many more. One of the more creative scenes had to be the role playing scene that left many fans drooling and excited for more. Overall, this book is perfect for anyone searching for a book with plenty of action, plot, and yeah, even some good ol’ fashion sex scenes.

From a writer’s perspective, I really like the scenes between Huang, Tao, and the girl (my interpretation of “spice” scenes) as they serve to advance character and move the plot between longer sections of narration. I would study these scenes to get a handle on the pacing, the volume of narrative vs. action/description, and particularly the excellent dialogue which is in turn very well written in that it reveals character and advances the plot.

This book was a slow burn compared to the rest of the Twisted series and therefore was even more satisfying in the end. Twisted Love was angsty, Twisted Games had the bodyguard factor, and Twisted Lies is a completely different kind of tension – all cerebral and simmering. The sexy scenes are all controlled and precise, until they’re not and things get all messy. I really enjoyed Twisted Hate for the banter, but this book is even more intense and quiet but just as hot in a completely different way.

I get that people want to focus on the spice, but honestly, it’s the rest of the book that really packs a punch. There are moments of extreme quiet and intimacy with Christian that are far more impressive to me than the vast array of sex scenes. Missing the forest for the trees here. The spice in ‘Twisted Lies’ is actually integral to the fake-dating trope which plays out in a really nice arc from a clinical, almost desperate arrangement to a deeply needed, desperate connection. Even the first kiss isn’t technically a ‘spicy scene’ but it’s powerfully charged due to context. The ‘practice’ moments leading up to them actually connecting are also highly charged with subtext. All of the connection scenes are hot in their own right but also rich in character development. They are deeply cathartic and feel earned each time.

I consider this a 4/5 pepper novel. It is detailed and frequent in the latter half of the story and is very important to the plot but it is not the most explicit thing out there. There is a large focus on the emotional connection of the characters and the romantic aspect is open-door but described. So if you are okay with open-door romance that is described intensely then you will be fine. It is very steamy but not crude.

Just to say I am here for Stella appreciation in all her hot and spicy scenes where she is not passive but challenging Christian, initiating contact and setting the boundaries for what he can and cannot do. Modern and consensual even when playing with power, I think. And my answer to that question for this book is: yes. The quantity of very hot sex is plentiful and of very high quality, but the real value of the book lies in the very well-made cake upon which said icing is placed. You get a complete and well-made story.
