Frankly, I'm not holding my breath for new episodes. The adaptation had its moments, but it strayed pretty far from Richelle Mead's source material in tone, and I think that split the fanbase. A lot of book purists I know dropped off after a few episodes. Streaming services are quick to cancel things these days if they don't become instant hits, and I haven't seen the kind of viral buzz that saves a show.
My guess is we'd have heard something by now if it was a sure thing. I’d love to be wrong, but I’m already mentally filing it under 'enjoyed while it lasted.' Maybe they’ll surprise us with a movie wrap-up or something, but a full second season seems unlikely at this point.

Man, the waiting game for new 'Vampire Academy' episodes is getting real. I was so into the first season's take on the Strigoi politics—way grittier than I expected from the books. Honestly? I’ve been checking Peacock’s press releases like a hawk, and there’s been zero official renewal announcement since the first season wrapped. The silence is kinda deafening. All the fan forums I lurk in are speculating that if it does come back, we wouldn't see new episodes until late 2024 at the absolute earliest, and that feels optimistic. The cast hasn't posted anything concrete on socials either, which usually isn't a great sign.
I keep comparing it to other book adaptations—sometimes they take a full year or more between seasons for writing and filming. I just hope the viewership numbers were strong enough. I need to see that Rose and Dimitri training scene from 'Frostbite' on my screen, you know? For now, it's all just rumors and wishful thinking.

No official date yet, which is a bummer. I check the Peacock app every Friday just in case. The only thing to do is rewatch and keep the engagement up so the algorithms notice. Fingers crossed we get news before the year ends.

It's canceled. Let's pour one out for another fallen fantasy adaptation. The graveyard is getting crowded: 'Shadow and Bone,' 'The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself,' now this. It feels like unless you're 'Game of Thrones' levels of huge, networks get spooked by the genre budget.
Oh, that's a tricky one because the streaming rights got all shuffled around. The show originally aired on Peacock, but it's not currently on that platform at least in my region. Last I checked, you might have to resort to digital purchase or rental on places like Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, or Apple TV. It's a bit frustrating when a show just vanishes from a main streaming service like that.
I remember enjoying the series—it had a different energy than the old movie, more focused on the politics of the school. A real shame it didn't get a longer run. Hopefully it pops up on a free ad-supported service like The Roku Channel or Freevee someday, since that seems to be where a lot of these single-season shows end up.
