13 Reasons Why Book Review Novels & Stories

It was written by Margarette Nielsen. Hmmm. I don't mean to judge the protagonist, but isn't it a shallow reason to get yourself killed? Ugh, how insensitive am I? Maybe, I have the guts to say this cause I never had my heart broken, I am an NBSB (No boyfriend since birth) kind of gal. So I don't know anything about heartaches and heart breaks. Therefore, I don't know her pain. I felt sorry for judging this book easily. So, to bring back its value, I decided to buy and read it. It will be my first time to read this kind of story; I was more on fiction-fantasy.

The book was reviewed in four national publications within the first week. All four noted that it was unusual. Part engineering memoir. Part family history. Part of the argument about what happened to people who were structurally excluded from the families they were born into and what they built when they found their way in any way. One reviewer wrote: "Luther writes about bridges as other people write about love — with the complete conviction of someone for whom the subject is not metaphor but life itself. However, I believe I'm free to write beyond my imagination. Starting from this point, the book would take a darker turn, and I can promise most of you all would only end up feeling for Annalisa— my beloved protagonist. She would make decisions that would make a lot of you hate her. There would be mention of sexual assaults and there would be descriptive smut, which is why this book is rated 18+. Even if you're above 18, and you can't stand any of those mentioned, in as much as I don't want you to drop this book, I'd advise you keep your sanity. I love everyone that keeps supporting this book. I hope you enjoy it, and please leave me a nice review. A beautiful gem would be highly appreciated.

I barely get many reviews on the front page of the book so a review this poor would set me back so far. You can criticise the book without rating it poorly and if it’s that bad, don’t read it. I woke up sad and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I consider stopping the book altogether (mean critiques get to me more than they should.) I am not saying this for my book alone. It applies to others as well. I kill myself to write and brush up on my chapters. I also don’t get paid to write on GN. I do it because I am committed, and love my readers here so much.

The reviews began arriving on Thursday. Patricia Osei had told me to read them but not to organize my understanding of the book around them because the book had been written for the women in the long middle and the women in the long middle were not the reviewers. The reviewers were the first room the book passed through on its way to the people it was for. The first review I read was from a literary publication that described the book as unflinching and specific and written with the particular authority of someone who had lived inside the thing she was describing rather than observing it from outside.
