I yanked my hand from hers.
She blinked, startled, probably more by the fact I actually did it.
“I didn’t come here to have this kind of conversation with you,” I said, voice flat.
I turned, locking eyes with Charles.
“You’re gay.”
The room froze. You could’ve heard a pin drop.
They all stared at me, surprised. They never expected me to be this direct.
Charles’ lips parted. “I—”
“You like men,” I said, cutting him off. “You don’t like women. So why are you doing this to me and yourself? You should be with the man you love.”
