Ava's Pov I was halfway to my room, shivering, with my hair matted to my face. I was shivering but it was nothing compared to the way my body felt like it was suddenly on fire. I could not bring myself to stop thinking about my father-in-law….and sexually too. “Are you still sulking?” Claire asked when I was hallways down the staircase. She was tapping her manicured nails against her phone screen. And of course, the little boy was with her, with his curly hair, and chubby cheeks. He clung to her skirt while sucking on a lollipop, I wished I could hate him, but he did nothing wrong.

🚩 Adrian's POV 🚩 "What?", Dad asked in disbelief. "Dad please. I promise to be careful", I pleaded. "No you are not going anywhere", Dad insisted. "Aren't you scared? There is someone out there that is bent on killing you and he said he won't stop until he does and you are telling me you want to go on a date tomorrow. Adrian please, I can't risk it", he said calmly. "Dad, I'm not scared anymore. I was scared before and the fear got me nowhere. That's what he want, Dad. He wants us to be scared of him and we shouldn't give that to him. Dad can't you see what he is doing to us?"

I tried to stand up but my world is turning so caught me in his arms. “What’s with the rush? Are you afraid of me now?” he said as if he’s being careful with the words that he chose. “What? No! My dad is probably having a search and rescue by now so I should go!” Well that’s the truth I’m really not afraid f him, I don’t know but I feel comfortable with him.

A woman whispered frantically, “This is impossible. If he’s alive, we’re all doomed.” Frances staggered back a little, her voice breaking. “Dad… what is going on? Who is this man? Why are you scared of him?” My father couldn’t look at her. He kept shaking his head, mumbling, “No, no, no…” like a mere man having a nightmare. I had never ever seen my father this scared before.

As I heard my Dad knocking at the door, I swallowed deeply and my hands shivered. " Oh Articus, what are you doing there?" He sees me while he's entering the door and I can't answer him quickly, I'm scared of him. I am afraid to do anything wrong that might kill me. Yes, he is my Dad but no one can tell that he can kill his own child for the sake of his business. " Uh--ummm" I'm stuttering, I don't know what I will answer. I looked like a kid that was missing in a place and couldn't say a single word but to cry instead.

I said slyly "Daddy can get mad and they say Daddy gets really scary when he gets mad." Would she leave if Dad got mad? Some people ended up going..., but unlike what I expected, she laughed. A chuckle like Uncle Asmodeus when he mocked Dad. "Is your father scary?" she asked as she sat next to me and I nodded. "Yes... everyone is afraid of Dad and sometimes... sometimes they are afraid of me too." Her hand slid down my back in a caress, as if trying to console me; but I was not crying. I did not cry. I tried never to cry - because when I cried Dad was sad.

She rushed to me and hugged me tighly. "Mom, you're scaring me now. Tell me what happened?" I started to feel scared. Something terrible happened for sure. "Your...your Dad." She somehow stuttered in a cracked voice. "What happened to Dad? Mom, please tell me, what happened to Dad. Where is he?" Now fear completely enveloped me.

Lucas didn’t want to scare his father with his new look. He was really scared that his father would see his new look and scream or even disown him. But his fear didn’t come to life. His father was still seeing his lovely son whom he has always loved and will always love. He kissed Lucas on the forehead and helped him up.

The thought of being away from him was a nightmare. Pain flashed through dad’s eyes for a moment. He pulled me into a hug, his body shaking with restrained emotions. “Darling, dad doesn’t want to be away from you either, but you must leave now, else you won’t be safe here.” The fear was real, painful. “Why won’t I be safe here, dad? Is the pack under attack?” I wished that was the reason. But when he kept quiet, and refused to meet my gaze after the hug, I knew it was something more.
