Callie’s expression dropped and her voice came out as a whisper. “That’s…my address.” Asher gasped. “Uhhh…I guess we’re from different dimensions, and I was so happy to finally meet a pretty girl I was interested in.” Asher tried lightening the mood. Callie shot him an amused look and laughed, “thank you, I feel the same way.” Asher’s smile widened. “That’s good. I’m not sure how this’ll work though.” He looked away thinking then looked back. “Us sharing the same fa-“ he stopped when he realized she was gone.

Like the raging storm outside, her inner turmoil circled, whirling and rotating, and overall, wreaking havoc. Until, unexpectedly, she found herself in her mental storm's eye. She still clung to the belief that she’d started this journey as Evelyn, an orphan child raised by a spinster aunt and struggling through the worst economic conditions in modern history. Set against a backdrop of cheap apartments, meager portions of tasteless food, tattered furniture, and hand-made toys created from old clothes and discarded cardboard boxes. Felix gasped with dismay. “I hate to break this to you, young man, but there are also zombies,” Arthur said in a flat tone. “Where’s the safety factor of being here?” Felix pouted. “We might as well go back above ground.” “Does it look like this on the surface?” Arthur asked. “Is the air as clean? The water as sweet? What about the plant life? There are more advantages than disadvantaged in inner earth, I think.” “But, aliens and zombies are here,” Felix moaned. “There are also prehistoric beasts. I’m not sure that the weather and landscape compensate for all of that.”
