Alvin and Ian look between them, waiting for a plan to form. Evelyn closes her eyes, letting her mind race. She knows that the house is under siege, and that Victor’s Betas will eventually get in. But she knows that they don’t have time to wait for that. So what they need, now, is for her father’s Betas to lay down their arms. I can't lose you and Dad.” Evelyn cried as her Mom didn't respond to the sprinkles. She had earlier thought that her Mom's tears were all fake until now. Her instincts had almost convinced her into believing that her Mom was responsible for Mr Bennett's death.

“Mommy… did you cry? Your eyes look puffy.” Evelyn froze. She forced a smile, kneeling to Cecily’s level. “No, baby. Mommy’s fine. Just a little tired, that’s all.” “You sure?” Cecily’s tiny hands cupped Evelyn’s cheeks like she was inspecting them. Evelyn nodded, brushing a strand of hair from her daughter’s face. “I’m sure, sweetie. Let me go take a shower and change, then I’ll come back downstairs and spend some time with you, okay?”
