He ended the call and looked at Victor’s frozen, defiant image on the screen. “You want a war of attrition, Victor?” Davidson whispered to the empty room. “Fine. But you’re bleeding from a mortal wound. And I have an empire to sustain me. Let’s see who outlasts whom.” The battle was no longer about truth. It was about endurance. And Davidson Ekon, forged in scandal and hardened by battle, was just getting started.
