The Parousia Effect

The Parousia Effect

“It was the name we gave the boy when he was born. Then Dr. Hansen must have changed it.” “Let’s not stray from the topic,” Mark interrupted. “Where is that apartment?” “On Atlantic Avenue, I don’t know the name or number of the building, but it’s the only small diagonal to the subway station. The apartment is 6-B on the sixth floor. If the elderly are there they may help her, and if they are traveling she also has access to it because she takes care of it. If she was at home this morning, it means she shouldn’t be taking care of it.”

The Frozen Heart

The Frozen Heart

She asked. "Well, I don't think that's a bad idea and since we have got nothing to do today I don't think it will hurt," I smiled at her and she lit up like Piccadilly Circus immediately. "Yes," She agreed. "I will go and call Cassandra," "Who's Cassandra?" I inquired. "The realtor," She rolled her eyes and wandered to her room to make the call. ---------------- "What's the address?" I inquired, starting the ignition. "520, Park Avenue, Upper East Manhattan," She replied, reading it out from a piece of paper.

The Parousia Effect 2. The conspiracy begins

The Parousia Effect 2. The conspiracy begins

They finally chose Fifth Avenue, located between 42nd and 34th streets, near the Municipal Library, and began looking for a place to park. “When will we start the second phase of the plan?” Clarence asked, once they had found a place after a long search, as they parked the truck and each put on a hat and sunglasses. “Today,” Roy replied. “We will wait for Michael to contact us and tell us the best time to proceed.” They parked the truck between a black Mercedes Benz and a Volkswagen Jetta and got out, walked to the intersection of 42nd Street and waited a few seconds. They wore blue overalls pretending to be employees of a mechanical maintenance company.

Ex-husband Wanted an Open Marriage With My Sister

Ex-husband Wanted an Open Marriage With My Sister

Are you heading over, Senior? I left his text unanswered, grabbed my car keys and walked straight out the door. Bedford-Stuyvesant sits deep in Brooklyn, separated from Manhattan by the East River. Dusk had fallen by the time I drove across the bridge; streetlights flickered on one after another, casting a dim amber glow over the drab city streets. 1427 Vernon Avenue was an old three-storey brownstone townhouse. Most of the exterior paint had peeled away, exposing bare grey concrete underneath. Half the ground-floor windows were boarded up with plywood, while warm light spilled out from those on the second floor.

Satisfying Her Darkest Fantasies

Satisfying Her Darkest Fantasies

The days were getting cooler as fall wound down to winter. Gabe lived a short distance away at 400 Fifth Avenue, a sleek, modern residential development, while Jace lived on the Upper West Side closer to Mia—she was convinced she was why Jace had never moved closer to his office. And Ash lived at 1 Morton Square, which overlooked the Hudson River.

As I look at my year in review, this author and book collection has been monumental in reigniting my hunger for reading. I can't track most of the books from this app easily for my year end count but in my heart this book means the most. I wish I could buy a printed version of each of these. .........

Love this well written book! Thoughts & emotions are conveyed beautifully! The author makes you feel like you know the characters intimately w/o being excessive or mundane. Hot & steamy w/o crude vulgarity! I wish we could give gems at the end of chapter but that’s the app, not the author’s fault.

Twenty Seven Days

Twenty Seven Days

New York. Richard Hale's Office. Wednesday. 3:02 PM. Richard Hale’s office was on the thirty-fourth floor of a building on Park Avenue that had been making aggressive statements about its own importance since 1962. It was a space designed to shrink the visitor and expand the inhabitant, a cathedral of mid-century ambition where the air always smelled of cedar, expensive stationery, and the cold, metallic scent of filtered oxygen.

A Contract With My Demon

A Contract With My Demon

The penthouse of the Sterling-Vance building stood eighty stories above the city, a glass-and-steel fortress that overlooked the tiny, scurrying lives of the humans below. To the public, Vane was the reclusive billionaire who had just "merged" his interests with the Vance estate. To Elara, he was the man currently pouring two fingers of amber bourbon while staring at a map that shouldn't exist.

Reclaiming the Love We Lost

Reclaiming the Love We Lost

The clock on the wall of the executive suite didn't tick; it pulsed with a silent, electronic rhythm that felt like a countdown. 11:00 PM. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, Manhattan was a sprawling carpet of electric jewels—amber, white, and neon blue—veined by the red and white streaks of late-night traffic on the FDR Drive. But inside the 52nd floor of the Wolfe Group tower, the world had shrunk to the diameter of a single desk lamp.

--- The cab halted in front of one of the oldest and most luxurious apartment buildings along the corner of 5th Avenue and E 63rd Street. Jesse got out of the cab and ran to the other side, opening the door for K like a real gentleman. "Let's go," he grabbed for her hand, and they walked up the pavement to the beige marquee that matched the exterior foundation of the extravagant building. "Mr. Akerman! How lovely to see you, Sir," the pudgy African-American doorman who looked like he was in his early forties greeted Jesse before they entered the marble lobby. He had a huge, contagious smile. His eyes gleamed and seemed genuinely delighted to see Jesse.

I've spent a lot of time exploring New York City, and 200 Eleventh Avenue is one of those addresses that stands out. It's located in the Chelsea neighborhood, right near the West Side Highway, offering stunning views of the Hudson River. The building itself is a striking piece of modern architecture, often referred to as the 'Jean Nouvel Building' after its famous architect. The area is vibrant, with plenty of art galleries, restaurants, and the High Line park just a short walk away.

If you're visiting, you'll find it's close to some iconic spots like the Chelsea Market and the Whitney Museum of American Art. The location is perfect for anyone who loves a mix of urban energy and waterfront serenity. It's also well-connected by public transport, making it easy to explore other parts of the city.
