“Three months. You really wanna stand here in front of my men and remind me of the timer?” I lift my chin. “Yeah. I do. Because you agreed to it. You said you’d play fair. No forcing. No threats. So let’s make sure everyone hears it. Three months. If I hate you at the end, I leave. Clean break.” He studies me for a long beat, thumb still stroking my wrist like he’s trying to decide whether to snap it or kiss it. Then he leans in close, lips brushing my ear. “You think three months is gonna change how bad you already want me? Cute.”
