The Devil Who Owes Me A Kiss

The Devil Who Owes Me A Kiss

But Julie was curled up against her leg, warm and trusting, and Henry’s house felt more like home than her apartment ever had. “Just until the coffee’s finished,” she said. They settled on opposite ends of his large sofa, Julie immediately claiming the space between them. The film was one of those sophisticated romantic comedies from the 1940s, all witty dialogue and glamorous settings. Henry found himself watching Lavinia more than the screen, charmed by the way she smiled at the clever lines and laughed at the physical comedy.

The Hidden Princess At All-Boys Alpha Academy

I say, immediately supplying the name of the old sitcom we’ve all watched a thousand times, smiling softly because I absolutely love that he loved this show. “Yeah, that one was the best one,” he says, nodding like it’s a fact. “The girls were…really nice to each other, and so supportive, and so funny. And I learned about…boyfriends and girlfriends and dating. And what mates were. And with movies, I liked…um, what do you call them? Romedies…?” “Romantic comedies?” I offer. “Romcoms?”

I’m totally obsessed with this book! It’s so well written. The characters in this book are so deep and significantly different from one another. It gives this book the depth that most of the novels lack of. Furthermore, the story is interesting, adventurous, funny yet touching or even scary at times

I’ve read quite a few books on here, both completed and in progress, and this author is hands down the best author of them all so far. Her writing is intelligent and well thought out, her chapters vary in length for the story not for the app, and the plots & character arcs are just… fantastic. 11/10

Thirty Days Before Goodbye

Thirty Days Before Goodbye

] There it was again. I went anyway. I changed out of my work clothes, put on jeans and my leather jacket, drove myself to the Riverside Drive-In on Route 9, and bought one ticket. The girl at the booth didn't even blink. Solo attendees probably weren't unusual here. The film was a romantic comedy, the exact kind Ethan had called lowbrow when I'd described it. Two people who were obviously in love spending ninety minutes pretending they weren't, set in a shiny version of New York that looked like a postcard. Predictable from the opening credits.

90 Days In My Bestfriend's Stepbrother's Bed

90 Days In My Bestfriend's Stepbrother's Bed

“Don't be such a buzzkill and… just try to have a good time. For me, alright?” For him. I am standing here, in a slim, sleeveless, uncomfortable black dress that barely hides my panties, in a room full of people with weird taste in music and on a day that is supposed to be my best day—and all for him. All for him to notice me, have a good time with me, probably kiss me and… more. What a sick talk coming from him! Twenty years of friendship and four years of a soul-crushing love for him, yet, he never understands what I really want.

In My Professor's Arms

In My Professor's Arms

A moment later, he did the same, leaving just enough space between us to feel the quiet awareness of his presence. We picked out a classic romantic comedy-something light, something that didn't require too much thought. The kind of movie that made you laugh so much, effortlessly. As the scenes played out, we found ourselves laughing at the same moments, unconsciously leaning toward each other. Our shoulders bumped once, then again, but neither of us pulled away. The warmth of the room, the easy comfort between us, the flickering light off that screen-it felt like the kind of evening I hadn't realized I'd been craving. Something simple. Something real.

Her Secret, His Obsession

Her Secret, His Obsession

He hums. I continue speaking. “You know, almost the same thing happens in every romantic movie. Still, it’s just so…perfect. The whole meetcute, love at first sight, enemies to lovers, fake relationships. All those cliche troupes are the best. I just can’t get enough of them.” I continue talking. “Then something silly and inconsequential happens and they have a big fight.” Ronan mumbles.

90 Days Marriage Contract

90 Days Marriage Contract

Preguntas frecuentes

Alright, so I'm gonna get nerdy about this because '90s rom-coms were basically my blueprint for relationships as a kid, and looking back, three movies absolutely shaped the whole vibe. You've got 'When Harry Met Sally...' which is the granddaddy of them all—it made talking about relationships and friendship the main event, not just the meet-cute. Then 'Pretty Woman' took the Cinderella fantasy and gave it a glossy, R-rated, shopping montage spin; it's pure wish-fulfillment but with that Garry Marshall warmth. But the one that feels most '90s to me is 'My Best Friend's Wedding'. It's messy! Julia Roberts doesn't get the guy, the ending is bittersweet, and it's all about subverting expectations with pop music and a gay best friend as the emotional core. That combo—witty banter, fantasy elements, and a dash of realism—is the decade's signature.

Later stuff like 'You've Got Mail' polished the formula, but those earlier ones built the foundation. The style was less about slapstick and more about conversational chemistry and navigating modern dating with a killer soundtrack.
