So what happens when I turn 16 years old, and run away from my problems to another world, only to find myself in the same magical world I played make belief in as a kid? With heartbreak at every turn, and a possible new relationship on the horizon, what could possibly go wrong in this world that hasn't happened to me on Earth?!

The talisman’s burn in Killian’s chest had dulled to a steady, searing throb — like someone had nailed a star into his ribs. Every beat of his heart sent waves of heat crawling down his arms, bleeding into his fingers until they tingled. The shadows inside him pressed against the invisible walls the magic had thrown up, like wolves clawing to get out. The stairwell was choked with smoke from the dying Bloodforged. Somewhere up the steps, the clash of steel and shouts of the guild fighters drifted closer — but not close enough.

' Maira grumbled as her mind recalled a character from a popular reverse harem light-novel she was in the middle of reading before she got transported into this world. The name of the light novel was called A Fairytale Romance, set in a fantasy magical world, where those who have magic and nobility were sent to a well-renowned and prestigious school that taught students how to hone their magic and become outstanding individuals. The plot started off with the heroine, the daughter of a baron, entering the middle school division of Diamond Academy.

“Is it important?” Alina glares down at her little sister, who jumps closer to where I’m sitting with a frightened expression. As far as I’m aware, Alina doesn’t physically hurt her sister, but she loves bossing Jessie around. Alina is the beloved daughter, capable of using wind magic. She is their parent’s favorite, and poor Jessie has barely talked to her parents.

Bruce asks me. I shake my head. "I could use a ride if you don't mind. I am not sure I am ready to drive today," I say. I know I am not ready to drive. "I can take you, but first, I have to tell you something. I made some calls while you were sorting through some things. I wanted to give you some space. I found both of your uncles. They own a little magic shop in New Orleans. It is called Elemental Magic," Bruce says.

I mean, he’s a royal prick, but he’s also freaking amazing, so I don’t care whether you have magic or not. I think the whole way that sorcereses treat their guys is weird. “How many?” Gregor asked, his hand already on his sword. The bloody man leaned against the doorframe, gasping for air. “All of them. Hundreds. Maybe thousands. They just started moving all at once, like something called them.” Kaden looked at Mother Elara. The old woman’s face had gone pale, her wrinkled hands gripping the edge of the table. “The pot,” she said quietly. “When I trapped the magic, it sent out a pulse. The Indexed must have felt it.”

Tiernan whispered, and I swung my gaze back to him just as the twilight magic surged through me. While it was still tingling beneath my skin, I leaned toward Tiernan. His hands slid around my waist and pulled me closer as his lips laid over mine. I could feel the magic rising inside me; condensing beneath his hands. I opened my mouth to him and with the first touch of his tongue, the magic was released. Effervescently bright, it sparkled on my tongue like champagne and sparked between us like a live wire. Tiernan's arms jerked me tighter against him and, for a moment, I thought I was levitating, but then I realized that Tiernan had simply lifted me off the ground.

A strange expression hits his face, but I can't read it as his image is like Kiarr's where it's a pale, blue color and partially see-through. "What?" "Our magic was amplified with..." There is that look again. "Just say it." "Sex magic." I open my mouth, but no sound comes out. Sure, I'd had sex before but picturing me doing so with a ghost is weird, yet exciting. Not to mention he is a century older than me. Never thought at nearly nineteen that I would add sex with a ghost to my repertoire. And no, I'm not going to say that making out with one-okay, two even at different times-counts as having sex.

" I remind myself why I came here in the first place. I didn't replace Alice because I intended to sacrifice myself and take her place. My magic has progressed quickly, even though I haven't been practicing. I close my eyes and allow magic to connect both of us, and when we connect, I see in his mind the person he intends to see. The person he wishes to see. And I become that person with minimal effort. As an extra touch, I convince him to ignore all that feels odd to him. This little encounter will slip from his mind completely and he will have no knowledge of it. It only lasts a few seconds.
