It's Just Magic

It's Just Magic

Sil said with her mouth full of cookie bits. “Yes.” “So, this place is magical?” I asked trying to piece things together. “Don’t be silly. It’s just glamour. A trick to human eyes.” “Please, by all means, call us humans even if you’re not one of us.” I told her sarcastically. “People then. If you prefer it that way.” She said catching on my sarcasm. Sill tried to hide her smile but I saw it. “Daylight, I don’t know you but seeing that my brother has I’m guessing he met you in one of his hysterical dreams.” She stood. Daylight looked at her.

It took only a few seconds to flip to the passage I was looking for, the one that talked about connections to the elements. “You’re definitely absorbed in that book. You’re even scrunching your nose.” Adley teased, leaning over my shoulder as a grin tugged at the corners of her lips. “Whatcha reading—ooh, illusion magic. I can’t do squat with illusion magic.” “What does it mean by ‘an affinity for illusion magic’?” I asked her, “is that like being connected to an element?”

Amy
Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.
Therese Dahlqvist
The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet

“Took long enough for him to believe me when I said I had no interest in killin’ his mate. Guess I can’t really blame him though, you do have a knack at getting yourself into shit.” I returned her glare, “The type of magic I have is called Conjuration. It runs in my family, and its existence is kept a secret for the most part. Well, according to the book, anyway. Supposedly, I can conjure things into existence. Ideas, thoughts, dreams, nightmares…you name it.” Clara’s pouty lips thinned as she forced them together, her expression one of disbelief but it wasn’t long lasting. She made a sound of surprise and mumbled, “Remind me not to go pissing you off.”

Alpha's Mate

Alpha's Mate

She could bend it to her will. Closing her eyes, she focused. The air around her shimmered, the mist shifting in response to her command. She felt the guardians' magic—the corrupted energy that bound them to the library’s defenses. If she could sever that connection… The moment she thought it, her magic flared to life. A brilliant blue wave erupted from her hands, spreading outward like ripples on water. It washed over the guardians, their snarls turning to agonized screeches as their bodies seized. The glow in their eyes flickered and then dimmed as their forms convulsed. One by one, they collapsed into the mist, their bodies disintegrating into the very magic that had created them.

Abernathy gave me a knowing glance, and I cringed. Clearing my throat, I steeled myself and tried to glare. The idea of forfeiting one's magic made no sense to me. Why would someone willingly give up such a gift? Choose to mate with lesser creatures? Weakening their power. There was no rhyme or rationale behind the logic.

"I'm not joking, it is really magic," She insisted, "and you can't leave yet, I still need to speak to you." "I have no time for this." Mayari was about to walk out, but the door suddenly disappeared infront of her, leaving only thick hard wall. "Our conversation is still not finish." She told, "Please have a seat."

Moonlit Magic

Rita Two weeks of secret library sessions had sharpened Rita’s instincts—both magical and otherwise. Tonight, Derek’s questions had taken a strange turn. "Ancestral magic is fascinating," he mused, flipping a page in a crumbling grimoire. "But imagine if you could channel the power of a living witch. Borrow their strength, amplify your own..." Rita’s fingers stilled on the book she was holding. "That sounds like blood magic." Derek waved a dismissive hand. "Not necessarily. There are other ways to form bonds between witches. Covens do it all the time."

“When the bond is severed, the magic flies—never gone, always seeking. Scatters. Not destroyed. It ensured the power didn’t die with Theodore, or with the bond. It went somewhere. And he was practicing with the younger wolves, sweat forming on his forehead, eyes focused. “Can we talk?” I asked. He sent all the rest away and accompanied me to the edge of the field. “The magic disappeared,” I added, in a low voice. “It moved.” He stiffened. “You’re sure?” “Not completely. Omega and Alpha Triplets

The obelisk loomed before Nicola, ancient runes pulsing like a heartbeat in the sickly, crimson light. The closer she came, the heavier the air grew, like the nexus itself was trying to repel her. Marla's teachings whispered in her memory: Magic is as much about willpower as it is about knowledge. Stand firm, and it will yield. Nicola gritted her teeth, raising the shard. The artifact vibrated in her hand, responding to the obelisk's energy. The runes flickered, their light intensifying, as if the nexus were alive - and watching her.

Daisy hurriedly explained. "You're wasting my time. I think I have to do this." He said and I turned to face him 'cause I didn't understand what he wanted to do. Turning back to look at him, I inhaled some sort of powder and my thinking changed. "Will you follow me now?" Sage asked with a smile. "Yeah, sure." I answered and gasps filled the air. "Sage" Morgan roared. "You know black magic is forbidden in this kingdom. How dare you use it?"
