His Beauty Her Beast
By the time the sun dipped low, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, I felt like a wrung-out towel.
But then I stepped back and actually looked at everything.
The gardens glowed under strings of fairy lights, each tiny bulb twinkling like fireflies. The tables gleamed with polished cutlery and crystal glasses. The flowers—minus the cursed daisies—spilled in perfect arrangements of roses, lilies, and hydrangeas. A soft breeze carried the mingling scents, cool and calming after the day’s chaos.
It was stunning. Magical, even. And despite all my grumbling, I felt a flicker of pride.
