“She slipped it to me before I left. I think you should read it.” Celine hesitated before opening the letter. The handwriting was shaky, as though written by someone very young. Dear Princess Celine, I don’t know if this letter will ever reach you, but I hope it does. Everyone says you’re gone, but some of us believe you’ll come back. We whisper your name when we’re scared because you’re the only one who ever cared about us. Please, if you can hear us, come back and save us. My little brother is sick, and we don’t have any medicine left. My mama says we just have to wait, but I don’t want him to die. I don’t want to lose him. Please don’t forget us.

I wanted to scream, to hold him back, but I knew I couldn’t. When I stepped back inside, I froze. A letter lay on the floor by the door. My hands trembled as I picked it up. (You think you’re safe after killing my sister and leaving me with nothing? I’ll hunt you. You won’t give birth to that child of yours here on earth… but in heaven)

It was a letter from my sister. My sister's perfect cursive handwriting.The words were, Dear Mom,Dad and Rain, I know you must be cursing me for taking such a drastic step and to leave you in a situation where you are not able to decide what to do but I was forced in this marriage mess too.It was not my decision though you thought it was the best for me. No ,I found my happiness long back and today my love won over my duties as your daughter.Forgive me if you love me an ounce.I know it's very hard perhaps impossible for you to still I hope to receive your forgiveness.

I shook my head once more. She took the letter from the envelope and unfolded it. "Hey, baby sister! You were so tiny the day Aunt brought you home for the first time. We were so glad that day, becoming brothers to a little angel. I didn't witness disappointment or hear mom complaining after that she wanted a daughter. I have so many memories to share. But this letter would end up being a book series then." Her voice was soft. She paused for a second. "I know you must feel hurt or furious for hiding my death.”

I was so lost in thought that I didn’t hear my sister talking to me. “Hey, Ginger, are you with us?” “Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts. What were you saying?” “I asked if you wanted to read the letter out loud or did you wanted one of us to read it for you?” “I will read it.” So she handed me the letter, and it wasn’t that long, but it was a good length.

I confusingly look at the paper and saw that it's a letter. Tears started brimming in my eyes , when I read the letter. Not believing what I am reading, I read it again and again, but I see the same words, in which my own elder sister, Disha ran away just before 4 days of her engagement, giving the absurd excuse that she 'can't marry the person whom her younger sister loves'. I removed my gaze from the letter and slowly looked at my mom, who is constantly glaring at me. "Mo-mom I-I ......"

Mum's sobs became louder. "Mum?" I shook her gently feeling a sense of dreaded urgency, "what is Luc talking about?" "Nothing," Mum croaked with a sniff, her eyes were bloodshot. "Your sister is possessed." Luc screeched. A high-pitched sound that made the hair on my arms stand on ends. "Luc—" I blurted as I moved to her, cautiously putting one foot before the other like I was approaching a wild animal. I felt the onset of a pandemonium.

Now that she was bored, she decided to see what was in it. Upon opening the envelope, she noticed it was a letter in it. She straightened the paper and it reads; “Dear sister, I may not remember anything from when we were kids, but I see the person you’ve become. Fierce, beautiful, kind, strong and intelligent. I see the way you care, the way you fight for what’s right, and the way you carry yourself even when the world seems heavy. I am proud of you, not for surviving, but for living fully despite it all.

The last traces of warmth were fading from her skin. A nurse handed me a piece of paper. "Lynn's last words." My hands trembled as I took it. I unfolded it. Four words. Scrawled crookedly, like she'd used every last bit of strength she had. "Leave. Don't look back." The tears I'd been holding back for so long finally broke through. I pressed the note against my chest and sobbed until my whole body shook. When I walked out of the nursing home, a message from Harvey lit up my phone.

How funny as we’re good at concealing our feelings and give advice to others while our life is a mess… I mean, I don’t even know how I’m fit to give advice when I myself has a messy life… it’s really hard this days but what’s making me keep going is the twins and the thought that this will pass… and there will always be a rainbow after a big storm has passed.
