Melody stands at the top of the stairs and looks down at her children and the two dogs in the amber light, and then she closes the door carefully, the way you close a door to a room where someone you love is sleeping. Upstairs the shop is all shadow and salt-smell. Outside, the wind has a voice now. Not a howl—too early for that—but a presence, a register, the bottom note of something that will get louder. The boards over the windows make it dim as dusk in here, though the sky has only just gone to amber.

“Who.” The air dropped in an instant. Breath froze in their lungs, every candle guttering but never quite dying. The chamber seemed to fold inward, as if the walls themselves bent closer, pressing down on their ribs. Then, with a groan that echoed like bones breaking, the seal cracked. From its heart spilled shadow — but not like theirs. Not crow-black. Not familiar. This shadow was older, heavier, soaked in memory. Its edges gleamed red as if dipped in fire. A feather emerged. Long. Brittle. Stained faintly with blood.

She couldn't even form full sentences. " It was dark and cold. We felt like spectators in our own bodies. I called out to you boys, hoping you all would hear me, but I didn't feel you at all. Instead, we felt Ember. Her spirit reached inside of us and pushed War away. Damien cannot kill her. Ember is still in there. Ryder is in there as well", Dad spoke. "Ryder is in there?", I asked him, making sure I heard him correctly, and he nodded.

But Emerald felt he was not really present. Amanda too remained a bit tense, but she continued to explain to Emerald what was going on. The hours ticked by, each moment stretching into an eternity as the hunt raged on within the Shadow realm. Emerald found herself caught between awe and curiosity, eating as much food as she wanted. The veil into the shadow land did not reveal much, but she still enjoyed herself. Just when she thought she couldn't bear eating any longer, a flicker of movement at the edge of the archway caught her eye.

Callan unleashed bursts of light, their presence a steadying force that kept the group anchored. Jamie flanked the entity, using his skateboard to deflect and disrupt its attacks. “Hey, shadow thing!” he shouted, his voice dripping with defiance. “Is this the best you’ve got?” The force roared, its tendrils surging toward him. “You are nothing!” it bellowed. “Insects clinging to a dying world!” Emma focused on the threads, weaving them together with the key’s energy. The heart’s light pulsed in the distance, its steady glow a beacon of hope. She felt the force’s energy resisting her, but she pushed harder, channeling everything into disrupting its core.

Aria says. "I wouldn't do it if I thought it was putting you guys in danger. Don't worry about it." I say. Suddenly we felt the building shudder. Like there was an earthquake or something. So we all got up but it was a quick shudder. Not like an earthquake. But then it happened a second time. We all ran out to the courtyard and Angelo ran out behind us. The shadow witch was out there throwing bolts of power at the gate to the mansion. "What the hell is this?" I asked Angelo.

Today was Saturday, and we had enough time to resolve this matter. There he was, standing in the middle of the clearing in his full glory. The morning light filtered through the dense foliage, casting dappled shadows on him, making him seem ethereal. In the semi-darkness, I couldn't make out his expression, and he waved for me to come over.

“We fight.” In the Shadows Ignis stood in the dark. Watching through fire. He had seen everything. Lycan’s death. Zuri’s grief. Daisy’s pain. He smiled. “Let them gather. Let them burn with hope.” He turned to the white-haired girl—**Ember**. “Soon,” he said. “The child will come to me. And when she does… she will burn this world to ash.” Rosa’s POV They told me Lycan was gone.

The flickering sparks danced across her smiling face, but in that glow, I suddenly saw Alyssa's silhouette from last year's Moon Goddess Festival. She was standing by the altar, setting off her own fireworks. "Matteo, this color is so beautiful." I snapped back to reality and blinked hard. "What's wrong? You don't look so good," Sabrina said, coming to stand in front of me. I shook my head with a frown, and Sabrina grabbed another firework and went to play by the shore alone. Why did Alyssa's shadow keep haunting my mind? I grew increasingly irritated. I sat on the rocks for a long time before finally pulling out my phone and opening Alyssa's chat window.

I note that they return clean as if someone had spent hours here. Perhaps Madam called for a maid whilst we slaves were away. I do not dwell too much on the mystery. I have too many mysteries to solve already.
