I wasn't a child anymore and I just have to find a way to make things work if she agrees to date me. The weekend was already upon us, I spent most of it alone in my house, Ebuka still hasn't called me and he didn't return my call when I summoned courage and called him. On Saturdays, I usually dedicated the day to having fun and attending parties but I wasn't in the state of mind for that. I just ate, drank, watched some old romance movies and slept for long hours. On Sunday I was completely bored and out of my mind. It felt as though I had suffered a loss or mourning the death of a close pal. I decided to skip going to church and just stay indoors.

“That’s not a hike. That’s a marathon.” “I don’t hike until ten.” He corrected her light-heartedly, squeezing her hand. “I take a long hike, then enjoy the morning sitting on my car or watching the river. “Plus, I don’t do it every day, only a few days a week. I like to get out of the house and enjoy my surroundings.” “Must be lonely,” She mused, “Living by yourself.” “Not at all. Don’t forget that I have done it for years. I had an apartment like you, but I didn’t have a roommate. For me, living alone is a good thing, not something that makes me lonely.”

She explained how he had painted the room and he had led her in there and that she was sure that he was going to ask her for a divorce and then he surprised her. Afterwards, when everyone started making plans for leaving home, I decided to extend my welcome and my invitation to them to come and spend the weekend with me.
