After Five Years

After Five Years

“Want to go outside for a bit? The night air is quite warm.” I nodded. We quietly stepped outside so as not to wake our hosts. On the small wooden porch, we sat side by side, looking at the starry night sky. The sound of crickets chirping in the distance, occasionally interrupted by an overly eager rooster welcoming the dawn. I opened the small bag I had brought from the kitchen. Inside were some pieces of cassava chips and traditional cakes that the host had offered earlier. I offered them to Julien. “Want some?” “Always,” he said, taking one and nibbling slowly. “It tastes… simple but honest.”

Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife

Betrayed By Husband And Son: Rise Of A Billionaire Wife

There it was, right in front of me, glowing on the screen in clean, a forwarded professional letters – ‘Coastal Sonata Retreat has officially been rated a five-star resort by Stars Of Serenity Guild. I blinked once. Twice. Then leaned closer like maybe I was hallucinating. “Five star?” I whispered, tasting the words like they were too good to be true. “Five stars from SSG?” For real? They were the most exclusive and hard to get ratings. Once they rate you, others aren't so important anymore. Not only did they rate us, it was the hard to get five stars? My heart started hammering in my chest, my palms instantly sweaty. I read through the email again, top to bottom, searching for the catch. Th

MY TRIPLET ALPHAS

MY TRIPLET ALPHAS

Since it's a Friday, I've just freshened up and I'm in my room dressing up because my brothers, some of our friends and I have decided to head to the shopping centre so as to have dinner in one of the best restaurants and then take a few drinks. It's the Pack's tradition not to work on Saturdays and Sundays therefore we can make merry till Sunday evening. Despite the losses we incurred, we are not ready to forego our traditions, that's why we've agreed to break the ice and congratulate ourselves for a job well done! My brothers are in their rooms and since our bedrooms are on the same floor with mine next to the stairs, they both bulge into my room giggling and urging me to hurry up since ou

Breaking Up With The Hottest Man On Ice

Breaking Up With The Hottest Man On Ice

Two weeks into the new routine, I decided to plan something bigger. Weekend getaway. Just Emma and me. Romantic. No interruptions. I booked a bed and breakfast two hours away. Small town. Beautiful views. Complete escape. Sarah agreed to watch Alex for the entire weekend. Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. I told Emma Wednesday over our daily check-in. "This weekend. You and me. No Alex. No work. No responsibilities." Her face lit up. "Really?" "Really. I booked a place. Sarah has Alex. We leave Friday after work."

As they ate, Roxanne said, "I can't believe the weekend is over already... Back to Happy Feet and photoshoots with Haliya and Cynthia... Oh God, I also promised to see my father." Jaxon said, "Relax, enjoy the day. Leave tomorrow's issues for then. And as for your father, you can arrange for them to come spend the weekend at your house. It has enough rooms." Roxanne agreed, "Yea, that's true." Jaxon asked, "So, what do you want to do today, princess?" Roxanne replied, "I really don't know... Something relaxing. I don't want to go partying. I think I've had enough of Vegas partying for a lifetime."

Five More Minutes

Five More Minutes

I jumped on my bed and checked my phone, seeing a text notification plastered on my screen. Of course it just had to be my damned mother. Who else could it be? Lyssa Hendrix, the "queen" of the mafia. She was nothing better than my father; if anything, she was worse. She was cold, brutal, and didn't care about anything but herself. It disgusted me. I opened my phone, reading the text. "You're coming clubbing with me tomorrow. It's going to be so much fun!"

The Five-Year Scam

The Five-Year Scam

When everyone finally left, I forced myself upright and limped back to the reeking stable that had been my “room” for five years. It was a filthy room where I had spent five long years sleeping beside horse manure. I was still dizzy when footsteps approached. It was Melissa. She appeared in the doorway with a food box in her hand, then she set it down as if nothing had happened. “Here, leftovers from tonight’s banquet, eat it while it’s still warm.”

Grandma May said with a smile, “That’s right. If your day off falls on a weekend, we can invite Serenity and the others along. The more the merrier. Serenity often takes her kids out. She knows the best spots to appreciate the fall.” Sheila responded, “Does Serenity plan for an outing with the kids every weekend? We should ask her to come along on our trip.” Alex chimed in. “Zack and Serenity are often too occupied with work to keep the kids company, so they make time for the kids on the weekend.

Thus far the book ... was compelling but disappointed that there is no ending to the novel. I planned on reading another book after this but with this experience why would I since there might not be and ending to that one as well! Bummer! Please do better so you don’t loose customers in the future.

My Boss, The Sperm Donor

"Ok, now for some business. I need to go away again for a few days, attend to some business. I'll be gone most of the week, but this weekend coming, I'd like the three of us to go away." "Go away, where?" "Anywhere, wherever you want to go. We can make it a long weekend, fly the Friday mid-afternoon, and only come back the Tuesday afternoon. Monday and Tuesday are public holidays, so it works out perfectly." "That sounds lovely. Ok, I'll talk to Skye and make her part of the decision. I think it'll make her feel more special.”

Love the theme. A few typos but overall it was a great read. I liked that it was not overly long with it lol of extensive chapters just filling pages. I would recommend this book to other people and friends because it was not filled with profanity and it was easy to follow the story line.

Frequently Asked Questions

I just finished 'The Five Star Weekend' and loved how it wrapped up. The weekend getaway turns into a emotional rollercoaster when secrets from the past resurface among the friends. Hannah, the protagonist, finally confronts her estranged mother after decades of silence. The big reveal shows their falling out was based on a huge misunderstanding. Watching them reconcile under the stars at their beach house was heartwarming. Meanwhile, the other friendships deepen as they share their own vulnerabilities. The final scene shows them toasting to new beginnings, with Hannah deciding to stay in the coastal town instead of returning to her high-pressure city life. The blend of closure and fresh starts makes for a satisfying ending that stays with you.
