As Harold was done speaking, Max Girard, his stepbrother, walked out of his hostel. He, too, was going to the general building to get his timetable. He still was friendless and that didn't bother him at all. His plan was to survive alone because he believed he could.
“Well, well,” Wilkes said slowly. “There be is. Go talk to him now.”
“But we have to—”
“Go talk to him now,” Wilkes said again, a notch higher than the first time.
