When our eyes catch again, I don’t look away, and he smirks, shooting me a meaningful wink. Challenge accepted.

I said, wearing a supposedly charming smile on my face. "Okay, you have my words" she smiled back at me. "Thank you" I heaved a sigh of relief. "You are welcome" she winked at me.

Onyx winks. I look at him questionable. When a smile appears on his face. “Grandma” Onyx says.

I watch her lift her glass of wine in my direction as acknowledgement. I keep staring at her, my hands shaking. What was that? What did I just see?

Wink face emoji. I giggled and blushed because I already did what I shouldn’t have done. I thought with a grin on my face. Then I lost my grin and saw the other text from Jayson and Eli. Eli: Avery, do you know where the guys are at? Jayson: Hey, you ever answer your phone, princess. I thought I felt a smug tone in his comment. That was it. So, they were looking for the guys?
