Promised to the Tyrant
Not only did Aaron and I have a lot of common classes, but also our shared status as ‘new students" and our shared interests gave us a lot of fodder to talk about. We both loved books, especially fiction, and then we both liked cooking, though, admittedly, I had not done much cooking since I moved to Enna. But it was nice to have someone else to share things with and talk to.
And I was just extremely grateful for Aaron’s company, and for the books he had lent me, all of which kept my mind hooked on the story and prevented my thoughts from wavering about all the unanswered questions that were creating havoc in my head.
"Don’t tell me you didn't sleep last night either," Aaron asked me as he p
