Happy Yesterday Unlucky Today

NEWS: Zach and Zelle's engagement is cancelled.

…….

A ray of sunlight shines along the middle of the corridor, warming the woman's long black curly hair and giving her a bright grin. And a man watching at her from afar couldn't take his gaze away from her, following her every step, every heartbeat he makes.

The woman entered a room brimming with books, while the man trailed behind her.

Zelle brought two books to a nearby table to read after walking to the shelves and finding the book she wanted. And Aaron, who had followed her inside, hid behind the bookshelves, staring at her. All just to watch her from a far… Like always.

The silence in the room is broken with every page turn she makes. Aaron's heart, however, continues to beat despite her slight motions.

Aaron's heart is warmed by Zelle's beaming gaze as she flips through the pages.

And flicking her hair to her ear made his heart race... as if he was watching the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen. He actually sees her in that light.

Aaron knew he pledged to make Zelle his, but when he confronted his father last night, all he got was silence... excuses that they should simply enjoy her birthday.

But he senses that his father is unconcerned with what he says...

He can only look at her from afar to help him freshen his mind and mend his damaged heart because he doesn't know what else to do. He wanted to give it another shot... but he didn't know how... yet.

Zelle stood up and put the books back where they belonged. Aaron hid somewhere she couldn't see... but Zelle knew he was in the room the whole time. “See you later, Aaron. I'll wait for your promise,” she said as she walked out of the room, leaving Aaron speechless.

With his cheeks filled with warm, he stumbles and a book accidentally fell on his feet. He took it up and was ready to return it when he noticed it was his father's book.

“Wasn't this supposed to be Father's?”

Except for the office Zelle allowed him to use, his Father never left anything in this mansion. And this book... he'd spent the majority of his time with it.

He opened the book with curiosity. Only to be met with a curious skepticism.

A paper slipped from the book and he picked it up, frowning as he read the contents...

He was taken aback! And while holding the book, his palms trembled... "F-father..."

Meanwhile, while following a white butterfly, Zelle accidently stumbled onto his Uncle Zeppelin's office. She intended to catch the butterfly and release it in the garden, but the white butterfly landed on one of the papers on the table in the open office.

She stepped gently towards it and was ready to catch it when her gaze was drawn to the papers on the table. Her eyes widened as she read it the front. She was going to get the paper when the white butterfly flew up and went straight at the candle, startling her! “No!”

She approached the burning butterfly, catching the falling bits in her palm.

“Zelle? What are you doing in my office?” When Zeppelin returned, he was startled to see her. He approached the table and shielded her vision from the strewn papers. “You can't be here; it's too boring. D-did you see something?”

She ignored his question but instead mourned, "Uncle, I tried to capture it, but... I was too late..." Zelle rose up and showed him the dead butterfly, tears streaming down her face.

“You did your best,” Zeppelin patted her shoulder as he ushered her out cordially. “Here, give it to me; it will only cause you pain.” Zelle sniffled as she followed what he said. “I'll ask someone to bury it,” Zeppelin added. “Why don't you return to your room?”

Zelle nodded and left.

"Poor child," Zeppelin sighed as she walked away. He returned to his table and gently placed the butterfly on the table as he summoned some maids to his office.

Zelle was on her way back to her room when she exited the office, drying her tears... only to witness something she shouldn't have seen. She immediately went into hiding and listened to it.

“S-sir Zach...” a maid with a ponytail moaned as Zach pushed her against the wall, "S-sir, is there s-something you need?"

“You're wearing the ponytail I gave you yesterday,” Zach smirked as he stroked the young maid's hair. It suits you.”

The maid was flushed with embarrassment and averted her gaze. “I-I grabbed it from m-my drawer by accident. T-thank you for it... I-I didn't notice.”

"Hmm?" Zach mumbled as he moved closer to her and scented her hair. “Isn't this the same shampoo I've been using?”

The maid panicked and tried to explain, but all she managed to do was hold his broad chest and say, “S-sir! I-It’s—”

“Doesn't it smell exactly like me?” Zach whispered in her ear, tickling her neck with his breath. She trembles and gripped on his chest, “S-Sir—n-not here, please…”

“Heh, I'll take it as a yes, then,” Zach smirked as he gripped her waist and led her to a nearby door... the storage room. “I hope you can keep your voice down if you don't want us to get caught,” he whispered as he opened the door and welcomed her inside before quickly locking it.

"S-sir Zach..." the maid breathe heavily, her cheeks flushed as she grabs to his clothes.

Even though it was dark, she could feel his breath robbing off her sanity, and she craved more. “Shh, no need to say more,” Zach said softly, his fingers caressing her hair from root to tip and his lips slowly moving to her neck. “I heard through the others that the moment you saw me for the first time, you fell in love with me.”

The maid bit her lower lip, and she couldn't deny any longer because his mouth was only half an inch from her neck. “Y-you are the most attractive man I have ever seen,” she admits, trembling. “Who wouldn't fall for someone like you?”

If only the light was turned on, Zach could see the fire in her eyes as she anticipates the pleasure she will experience from him.

“I hadn't touched your bare flesh yet you're now honest,” Zach smirked.

"I—" Before the maid could say anything, Zach kissed her neck and slowly slipped his hand inside her maid uniform. "Mmm~" the maid moaned as she covered her mouth with her hand.

Zach took her hand, which was covering her lips, and kissed her passionately before pressing her to the wall. He was holding both of her hands over her head as he swayed his body against hers.

Her mind went insane as she felt the hardness that touches her skirt on her legs, begging for more. Zach let go of her lips and looked for an air, he heard her whispered, “Please sir, p-put it on me.”

“Not so fast, my kitty,” Zach chuckles softly, licking her lips, “I want to play more.”

“T-then, c-can I turn around?” the maid begged, helplessly swaying her waist on him.

Zach turned her around and pushed her up against the wall with her permission. He carefully slipped his hand back inside her undergarments after letting go of her trembling hands.

"Aahh" His hands on her bossom drove her insane, and she sways her waist between him and the wall. Not a moment after, his hand slid down under her skirt, “Ohh~ Ahh~”

She attempts to swallow every pleasure she receives, oblivious to the fact that Zach's fiancé was just at the other wall, hearing their moans and exciting moments.

It was the room directly beside the corner hallway where Zelle was hiding out of all the places they could hide.

Zelle couldn't utter a sound since her face was blank. No one could tell what a fiancé like her was thinking when she found him red-handed.

Rather than confronting them, she simply stood up straight and began heading back to her room, passing by the storage room. She acted as if she hadn't seen anything.

Except that someone actually saw her…

Aaron, who had just exited the library, witnessed this scene.

He noticed her standing against the wall and didn't understand why until he passed it as he followed her. He heard what she heard… “Zelle,” he said as he seized her wrists while the book he found at the library in other hand, almost fell.

He called her name with worried yet when she turned around… she gave him a smile, “Yes, Aaron?”

He was dumbfounded, “You… knew?”

"Don't worry too much, Aaron," Zelle says, her smile faltering for a second before widening again. "As you said, we're still young," she murmured as she pushed his hand away from her wrists and walked gracefully to her room.

Aaron was speechless.

But not a moment after… He heard a quiet whimper inside her chamber…

He knew… it wasn’t alright… she wasn’t fine…

He clenched his fist and looked towards the storage room from afar, his fist and book clasped. ‘Really?! What a bold man you are, brother!’

He wanted to scream at his older brother and punch him until he realized how much agony he had caused Zelle... But he didn't want to cause her any more issues, so he kept it to himself for the time being...

He stormed into his father's office with the book he found at the library. “Father!”

“If this is about last night, forget it,” Zeppelin growled at him as the documents he was reading tumbled to the floor.

“Open it, Father,” Aaron stated as he ignored his comment and tossed the book he was holding at the table.

Zeppelin grimaced and wanted to beat his son with his tone, however, when he saw the paper inside the book, his face turned pale, "T-This—"

Just the day after Zelle’s special 17th Birthday, a lot has happened.

After an euphoric celebration, there are tears of sadness and madness.

Was it a sin to fall in love with Zelle?

Was it a sin to wish for her smile?

Was it a sin to seek truth in a deplorable but silent manner?

Yesterday was a joyous day.

Today, however, was full with intrigue and betrayals.

The night had finally arrived...

With unexpected news!

“Zach and Zelle's engagement is cancelled,” Zeppelin stated at the meal, breaking the silence.

Both of the couple were taken aback.

“Father! What are you talking about!” Zach locked his gaze on Aaron, who was blissfully eating his food and ignoring him. He gritted his teeth. He wanted to punch him and ask how he managed to persuade their father to change his mind.

However, Zelle was with them.

And Zelle just knew him as a kind partner and a caring brother. He didn’t want to ruin her impression.

Zelle was speechless as she awaited her uncle's explanation.

“I was wrong,” Zeppelin said, wiping his mouth with a table cloth. “Zelle ought to marry the man she loves. It was irresponsible of me to make such a request without taking into account her feelings."

He look at Zelle with worried eyes and added, “But I still want you to marry any of my sons.”

“W-what?” Zelle was taken aback.

“I still want you to marry in a year. Please. I-it's promise I made to you. To see you marry into my family and have you as the mother of my grandkids,” Zeppelin pleaded. “I will let you choose between the two. You can take your time.”

After that, there was silence as everyone stared at her, waiting for her to respond to this unexpected scenario.

Raine, Zelle's personal maid, murmured behind her, “This is too sudden...”

Zelle sighed heavily after a lengthy pause. "Then I'll choose—"
