And, almost always, you're born with only one type of magic. Which one? You can't simply decide to become a wizard. You either have the gift, or you don't. And, if you don't, you can jump through hoops, but it won't help you any. In total, there are seven types of magic. Four are elemental: air, water, fire, and earth. Three are spiritual: life, death, and mind. Out of them all, death mages are the least popular; they're also called necromancers. But we aren't talking about them right now. She could do this - she would definitely do this! “Look at that little flower over there…” Isaiah pointed to a tiny rose which had not bloomed yet, “make it blossom.” She stopped and raised a brow, “what?” “You heard me right.” “How am I supposed…” “Don't doubt and do not hesitate. According to ancient histories…magic is way more than just bringing down fire and rain. It's a force that can connect you to the earth. You have a connection to every element of the earth and you can make use of it… you have the ability to give life, and also take it.”

“Magic is real?” Kieran, who was already moving toward a central oak table, didn’t even look back. “Not in the way you’re thinking of it,” he replied, his voice low and matter-of-fact. “There aren’t really witches with pointy hats casting spells from cauldrons. But there are… energies. Forces that predate humanity. Our kind, and others, can learn to channel them. It requires focus, intent, and rituals. It’s certainly not about waving a wand ”

But it vibrated differently in a big tree and in a lifeless stone, in a light summer breeze and a small cheerful stream. The spark of each sorcerer was differently attuned to that resonance. By trial and error, wizards defined the nature of these resonances, their building blocks. Light, earth, air, water, life and death. One of the most famous theoretical magicians, Sefril Do-Ther, wrote a lengthy technical book on the nature of magic. Yet, in the end, it all came down to one simple truth: nature, in its infinite wisdom, also had an
