Milli was thinking about tomorrow’s baking when she heard Ben call out. “Dorine, we have a Bingo. Milli’s got the iron cross.” His eyes held so much amusement, teasing her without a word for not paying attention. Milli looked at him surprised and then down at her card, it was half marked out. Ben drew his finger across the center and then down through the center. “Congrats, Milli you won.” “Oh wow, I thought it had to be an X.” Then she stumbled over reading aloud the letters and numbers.

He wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her cheek, making her blush instantly. Jason leaned closer, pinning her gently beneath him—until Adeline suddenly pushed him away. “Jason… I’m bored,” she said. “Isn’t there a game we can play?” “Hm… Uno Stacko? Uno cards? Poker?” he offered. “Uno Stacko? Do they even have that?” she asked. “They do. Wait here—I’ll borrow one downstairs.” He returned shortly with the game. Frustration mounted and he was relieved when the caller finally sat down. “This first game will be a blackout,” the caller announced. “You must cover the entire card. I’ll call the first number. B-10.” The room fell silent. Next to him, Sarah marked her card. He scanned his, too, but didn’t see the number. Christ, there was nothing more boring than bingo. “O-75.”

Where from? “Oh, hi. What can I do for you?” “I just need to verify the address. The fax the office sent over was a little skewed.” She pressed the phone tightly to her ear, leaning over a little. Something about the voice caused her heart to race. She shook her head and smiled. “Yeah, sure. No problem. It’s 1244 Lake Woods Drive. See you there around ten tomorrow?” “I’ll be there around 9:30. It was cool though because he showed me how to access the security cameras for the entire building. You can put down the same card, one above, or one below. The cards in the middle are face down so no other players can see them. Which means you can put down a five and claim it's an eight. If someone thinks you're lying, they call Bullshit, and the loser takes all the cards in the middle. First one to finish all their cards wins."
