Married To The Devil

Married To The Devil

The room remained silent as we waited for me to answer him. Then, as the exhaustion washed over me and I was drifting in and out of sleep, I gave in. “I’ll use myself as bait.”

THE BILLIONAIRE HIDDEN SIN

THE BILLIONAIRE HIDDEN SIN

Not just as a pawn, but as bait. Yes, bait. That was the word I kept circling back to, the word that makes my stomach churn now. It started as a contingency, a way to lure Victor out of hiding, to flush him out into the open. Victor, the shadowy figure lurking in the dark corners of our world an elusive enemy who had been playing us for months. We knew he was close, too close, and I believed that Edwin’s proximity to him could be exploited.

“Why now?” “Because she thinks you’re temporary,” he said. “And I’m not.” Anger burned clean. “You let her near me.” “I let her think she was close,” he corrected. “There’s a difference.” “That’s not protection,” I said. “That’s theater.” “Sometimes theater keeps bullets busy.” I stood, pacing. “You used my past as bait.” “I used the myth of it,” he said. “And it worked.” My phone burner he’d given me buzzed. One message.

Raven's MC Series; Marlowe & Torin -Book One of the series

Raven's MC Series; Marlowe & Torin -Book One of the series

Some guys wanted a war, others were scared of the fallout. "Maybe we play their game," I spoke up. "Feed them some bullshit info." Rook looked at me and nodded slowly. "Risky. But it might work." The plan was set. It was dangerous, but it was all we had. Watching everyone move into action, I felt this weird twinge of sadness. What happened to my brother? Was he always this heartless and I just didn't see it? "We need bait," Rook said, looking right at me. "Someone they'll actually believe."

“He wants us desperate, so we have to act like it. We feed his network a route—one we control, one we can monitor. Make him think he is cutting off another supply. When he bites, we follow the trail back.” Ace raised an eyebrow. “Bait.” “Exactly,” Ashley said. “He is watching us fall apart. Let’s give him a show.” Jax smirked. “I like her kind of crazy.” Nolan considered it. A bait plan meant playing with fire, but it gave them something to do. Movement kept them alive. “Are you sure this will work?” he asked. “No,” Ashley said. “But sitting here won’t.” He studied her, then nodded. “Set it up.”

HOUSE OF FORBIDDEN DESIRE

HOUSE OF FORBIDDEN DESIRE

“I carried that envelope. I walked in blindfolded. I thought… I thought I was handing her the keys to everything. I thought I would ruin us.” He spoke again, his voice was softer, and almost gentle. “You were never supposed to know the full plan. Not until it was over. If she suspected anything… if she saw doubt in your eye, she would’ve smelled the trap. You had to believe it was real. You had to sell it.” I laughed. It sounded bitter even to me. “So I was bait.” “You were the only one she trusted enough to hand it to personally. The blindfold, the threat, all of it that was her being paranoid, not me. I only used it.”

THE DIVORCE AND HIS BETRAYAL, MY REVENGE

THE DIVORCE AND HIS BETRAYAL, MY REVENGE

"How? We don't even know where he is. We don't know where he lives, where he sleeps, where he hides." "Then we make him come to us." "How? He's not going to walk into a trap just because we ask nicely." "By giving him something he can't resist. Something he wants more than he wants to stay hidden." The bait was a fake document, a fabricated piece of evidence that suggested I had discovered Pierce's true identity and was planning to go public with it. Sarah created it, using her skills to make it look authentic, aging the paper and forging the signatures and planting false leads that would take weeks to unravel. James planted it where Pierce's people would find it, in a dead drop that we knew

The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

"What? But…" Burt's jaw hung open as he tried to speak and sighed after a long while. "Sir, her insanity was faked!" "I know." Frank nodded again. "What?!" Burt was left gaping in disbelief. "Then why didn't you just eliminate her back then?" "Because I'm using her as bait." Frank's explanation only left Burt further confused. "She's bait? What are you fishing for, Mr. Lawrence? If she tells Cloudnine Sect about you—"

STEP BROTHER DEAREST

STEP BROTHER DEAREST

His gaze held me pinned, like a moth against glass. He didn’t advance. He didn’t retreat. He simply… waited. Madison’s voice whispered in my ear through the comm: “Why isn’t he moving?” Ian hissed, “Because he wants *us* to.” And that’s when I realized—this wasn’t hesitation. This was bait. --- The weight of the trap settled on us slowly, suffocating. He had inverted the game without moving an inch. We had spent weeks teaching him that hesitation meant weakness. But now he was feeding it back to us, daring us to react.

This is such an interesting book, and the characters are really good. Jane is that one friend anybody should have, and then Elara who was called barren was finally going to be having her baby. It's a pity her husband had to cheat on her with her step sister. Overall the story is really good.

Honestly I love that she had a friend like Jane, I love her personality. I love how I could feel every emotion you tried to put into words and everything played like a movie in my thoughts. This is such a good read. Kudos dear author...️
