I shrug faintly, suddenly feeling humbled. The little girl pops out from the woman again and skips toward me, her laughter echoing in the serene air. Bolder this time, she takes my hand and tugs at it, looking up at me with innocent eyes, and I cannot help but smile. The little girl starts to skip around me. Turning my attention to the woman, I ask the question that has been gnawing at me since I woke up, "Am I dead? Is this the afterlife?" The woman throws her head back and laughs. ""What is after life?"

Within seconds all pain is gone and my body is fully healed. “Isn’t this the afterlife? And aren’t I dead? I don’t see how I don’t belong here then” “Yes, this is the afterlife but technically you are not entirely dead” she tells me. “What do you mean that I am technically not dead? How can someone be technically not dead? It is either you are or you are not” I start pacing while panicking, if she tells me that I went through all that pain for nothing I will honestly lose it.

“It’s not really different from being alive. We still eat, sleep, and all the fun stuff. However, pain isn’t really a thing. You don’t have to worry about breaking bones. Chris braved the unknown and needlessly jumped off a three-story cabin just to test it out.” I was not even surprised that he did that. It was a good fucking thing that he could not die again or else he would be fucked. We spent the next few hours reconnecting with each other.
