I want some Ray. I've been planning to get more of him ever since I returned to my chambers, staring at their lovely red walls, the same color as sweet crimson honey. I bathed, acting as if I were to sleep, putting my change of clothes underneath my pillow. My lifesaver sits at the entrance of the door and I am ready to go. Yet Dante won't sleep. I've had enough. I need some Ray.

“I knew something felt weird, but I didn’t think it could be this.” “Be what?” “It’s a glamour. Kristy, this place has been hidden from human sight.” I pull my phone away from my ear and drop a pin in my location and then send it to Kristy. “There’s an alley behind the bar and the building is right across from it, I promise.” I can hear Nicole’s voice through the phone but can’t make out what she’s saying. A few seconds pass and it sounds like Kristy is running. “I’m in the alley,” she tells me. “And you’re right. It feels…weird back here. Hang on.” Rustling comes through the phone and then I hear my friends chanting. “Light of the sun, dark of the night, reveal the truth before my sight.”

You are Ptakkagaris, you might die too.” “For Maggie, I’ll do anything.” Both of them were declaring their loyalty and willingness to lay down their lives for her. They were two Alphas trying to win their Luna and each man didn’t want to share. For now, they put that difference aside and focused on the matter at hand. “We will attack tonight for privacy,” Noah told them. “Nightfall does not guarantee our safety. We have to also consider the humans who may be asleep in case there is an ambush and we are forced to go all out.”

Carmen smiled again; this was going to be fun. Amelia had her own little personality which made her forget for a moment that she was only an AI. After a minute or so the lights flickered out and she put on her night vision glasses. She turned the corner and watched the guards who were looking around trying to figure out what had happened. She heard one trooper call security, but he quickly ended the call. He told the other soldiers that security was down and the lines were jammed.

We approached from the area with the least traffic and staying as low as we could, we got ready to attack. Todd pulled the pin from one of the grenades and tossed it toward the entrance, Liam followed suit and Devon had his rifle aimed at the sky. As the grenades hit Devon’s shots rang out, felling at least three Nephilim. The flashes of light drew their attention, but we had split up and were already moving, headed in the opposite direction. What makes this barren, desert-like land even more ghostly is the fact that we’re about to enter nightfall.
