She exhaled, squared her shoulders, and pulled the door open. Aiden stood on the welcome mat in the porch light, looking like he'd run here straight from whatever late-night chaos he usually chased. His long dark hair was scraped up into a high, messy bun that somehow made him look both effortlessly pretty and a little dangerous. A single silver ear loop glinted at the top of his ear, catching the light. He was dressed in all black, from his hoodie, which was layered under an open jacket, to his cargo pants and laced boots.

The moment she answers, a round little face fills the screen. “Mommy!” Aiden has clearly stolen his grandmother’s phone. He is already dressed for kindergarten in a pale blue cardigan and white shirt, his soft black hair falling over his forehead. His blue eyes shine the moment he sees her. Rosalie smiles as she towels her hair. “Why are you up so early?” “I have something to tell you. Uncle Julian took me for ice cream yesterday.” “Did Uncle Julian forget he has a job?” “He had the day off.” Aiden leans closer as if sharing a secret. “He’s coming to New York for a big fashion show. You’ll see him soon.”

Ivanka did not move. Jonah’s phone was ringing. Jonah glanced at Ivanka, gave her a light nod, and picked up the call. “What’s the matter?” “Mr. Sadler, Miss Munroe is here for you. She said she’s got a project that interests you greatly.” When Ivanka heard that name, she immediately knew who it was. Miss Monroe was Athena Monroe. She was the heiress of the Munroe family. Munroe’s Group was also a well-known corporation in Bostone. Although they were not as famous as Barkworth’s Group and Sadler’s Group, they were much bigger than Lane’s Group.
