He only called out and ran after him when Sir Albert was about to close the car door. I knew later from mom that Sir Albert fled out of the country and that Sir Thomas could not find him no matter how much he spent on the search. Many years after, he finally knew why he couldn't find him. Sir Albert changed his name to Albert Nelson, and he boarded a cruise ship that later inspired him to shift his studies and become a ship captain.

Alpha Dalton caressed Millie’s head before saying, “its okay. I need to speak to these uncles real quick. Can you go back with Cassandra first? I will come pick you up once I’m done.” With a smile, Millie grabbed my hand and together we walked out of his office. I held the doorknob to close his office door on our way out. Right before I could close it shut, Alpha Dalton’s eyes briefly met with mine. I could see him fight back a smirk but it was faintly visible across his lips. I was momentarily stunned that I held the door halfway closed for a whole minute. It was only when Millie shook my hand to get me moving that I snapped out of it.

“Let it not be said that us fellas don’t know how to do elevenses.” Albert put the flask and paper bag on the table. “Elevenses? Why, Dennis Hodges, we’ll make a gentleman out of you yet.” Dennis watched Albert sit down on the camping chair. “I ain’t out to be anythin’ other than what I already am, Albert. Ye know that better than any man in this ’ere town.” Albert acknowledged this with a nod. Dennis was right, of course. They had known each other for many years, though their paths had never really crossed until their association with The Newshounds, and Maud.

Xavier: I sat looking at the man who had given me his daughter years ago for an alliance. His eyes meeting mine, studying my expression, wanting to play the game of cards. “I trust that you came here with something to tell me, Marcus.” I said, raising an eyebrow. “Alpha Xavier, I did not think that the two of us weren't on first name basis.” he said, his tone smooth but empty. “I appreciate you seeing me. I would’ve preferred my daughter greeted me first, but I understand she’s… preoccupied. It seems that she has been that way for a while now. I called her but she rarely ever answers.”

Albert laughed and took the glass from his hands. "I never knew you know how to make White Russian." Xavier smirked. "Well, my maternal uncle was a bar chef. I lived with him for around five years and used to watch him making exotic drinks and cocktails.", he replied. Albert nodded. "So? Who is the cause of your headache", Xavier asked him as he took a sip of his drink? "Ashton Finn. Leader of Red Eagle." No sooner Xavier heard that name, his actions froze. He looked at Albert in surprise.

It’s so warm and rich, and I know for memory it’s Alden. “Well Alpha,” someone else else replies. I'm assuming it’s a doctor. “I would assume she will wake soon. It seems we have a miracle on our hands.”

The next day, Albert came to the company with the same man beside him. He went to my office first to tell me he had arrived. Even though we were fighting over the company, we stayed professional. “Madam Xavier. I’m here for my first day as COO,” Albert said. “And I’d like you to meet my assistant, Dennis Lincoln.” He patted the man’s back like he was encouraging him. “Good day, Madam Xavier. I’m Dennis Lincoln. I’ll be working with Mr. Stonefield from now on. It’s my pleasure to work under your guidance.” Dennis smiled, professional and polite. But his eyes were full of hate.

I rested my back on the backrest of the seat. “Hmm. I get. Well, I'm not offended.” “You do not have the right to be. I paid you after you were bounced out of my mansion. It’s always the money, remember? Let’s get down to business, Brooks.” “Not my father’s name. Do I still need to keep saying this to you, Alpha Leonardo?” “Your name doesn't sound pleasing to my ears. His thumb hovers over the screen for a brief moment, just one second of hesitation, before he taps a contact. Xavier. The line rings once, twice, then… “Yeah?” Xavier’s voice comes through, low, amused… like he’s been expecting this call. There’s faint background noise….music, laughter, the clink of glasses….like Xavier is somewhere lively, completely unbothered. Albert’s expression hardens. “It’s done. I carried out my plans with the third person involved.” There's a pause, then a soft chuckle from the other end. “Already? That was fast.”
