“A few more days like this and you’ll be holding your own against most warriors.” Midway through the afternoon session, a border scout arrived with urgent news. He held out a small, familiar piece of dark cloth similar to the one found near Elder Cassandra’s cottage along with a crumpled note. “We discovered this near the northern ridge again, Alpha. The note mentions ‘the healer’s fall’ and has strange markings.” The group gathered immediately. Elder Mira examined the items, her brow furrowed. “The markings resemble the binding rune we saw before, but altered.”

I stepped forward, my presence no longer hidden. “You always did have a sharp sense of the unseen,” I said gently. Alina turned her head slightly, just enough to glance at me. Her eyes were red-rimmed, lashes wet. “Was it that loud?” she asked, voice hoarse. “No,” I replied. “But it was deep. The forest doesn’t echo unless it needs to.” She laughed, bitter and soft. “Well. At least I’ve made myself memorable.” I knelt across from her, letting the creek separate us. The moonlight pooled between us, silver and soft, casting shadows on her face that made her look older than her years.

And there I see him, laughing maliciously, lying on his belly, with his paws in front of him. I shake my head in denial. I walk through the cabin and head to the parking lot… “Excellent! There is a possible conversation over there.” I say to Fenrir, as I walk towards my truck. Alice is there. She is a young woman. I think she is only 25 years old. She is quite beautiful with her fiery red hair and her freckles on her cheeks and, from what I hear, she is also very talented. Fenrir raises an eyebrow and says, “I agree. She will be enough. Now don’t go overboard. I don’t want Emma to cut off our balls like she wants to do to Peter.”

Alpha Allison noted. “You said you only saw part of it, which means you didn’t see this exact image?” I inquired and he nodded. “I guess we’ll have to wait and see.” He shrugged, folding his hands back over his chest making his biceps bulge even more deliciously. “This is the willow tree I used to visit, it’s in the clearing on the Northern border, it looks like someone’s sitting under the tree but I can’t make out the figure.” Alpha Allison squints hard at the silhouettes.

Taking a deep breath, I made my way through the line of warriors already at the borderline. Standing just on the other side of the imaginary line was Alison. She was beautiful standing there in the slowly dying light. She watched me keeping her eyes on me until I stopped on my side of the borderline, maybe ten feet away from her. Her eyes slowly moved away from me and moved over the others before landing back on me. “Would we be able to speak alone?” I shook my head.

“There were too many questions surrounding Sarah…. and her son. We needed answers.” Sarah’s fingers gripped the edge of her chair. “My Lord, I told you everything, and that's the only truth—-” “And yet,” Lucien said, cutting her off gently, “too many things didn’t add up.” Alice leaned forward. “So I followed a trail, one that led me far beyond the eastern border. And what I found…” She gestured to the door. “You can come in now.” The door opened, and two figures stepped in, a woman in her late thirties with tired eyes and a boy of about seventeen, tall, slender, and visibly nervous. The moment they entered, Sarah went pale.

Every single one of them, their magic mingling, creating a protective force field around the entire line. “Yeah so that’s kinda the other thing I wanted to tell you. We have first born female hybrids here. Charlie is not alone anymore” I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I thought Charlie was the only one, I thought they couldn’t exist and here, there were at least thirty. The force field drops and Alice steps forward, her blonde hair tied back in braids “He won’t know what hit him” she smiles at me. Reaching up with one hand she presses it against my forehead whilst she stared into my eyes with her own odd blue ones

A crash from upstairs makes us both jump. Derek comes running down. His face is grim. "Alpha. We have a problem." "What now?" "Amy left something at the border. A message." He hesitates. "You need to see it." --- The message is written in gasoline. Lit on fire. Burning on the ground at Shadow Moon's eastern border. Big enough to read from a distance. **"SHE TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME. NOW I TAKE EVERYTHING FROM HER."** I stare at the flames.

Larry's POV "Rowan." Alice had yelled, ignoring the obvious tension in the room. "We have a breach on the northern border. And the attackers are Armed. At least a dozen that we've confirmed, possibly more. We think they migh have come for the humans and They're already inside the outer ward." Everything happened very fast after that. Alice had barely finished delivering her report before Rowan was already moving — not toward the door, but toward the bed. My bed, specifically, which confused me until he dropped to one knee and reached underneath it and pulled out ...a Fucking sword!
