Heels clicked against the tile. Alice. “Ohh, there you are!” she chirped, her tone bright and rehearsed. “I figured you’d be hiding. Your father needs you; he wants us to take a family photo.” She reached for my wrist like she owned me. I yanked away, my voice colder than I intended. “Don’t you get tired of embarrassing yourself?” She blinked, feigning innocence. “Babe… what are you talking about? I don’t understand.” I stepped closer, voice low and sharp. “You’re a monster, Alice. After what you did to Sabrina, you walk around like nothing happened. Like you didn’t just try to kill her.”

Lisa said, "An Alpha's mate needs to stay mysterious." So Drew kept me as his secret lover for five years. No one knew we were mates except the two of us. Lisa said, "Girls love surprises." So Drew would always drag me along to prepare elaborate surprises for her. Every Christmas, what I received were just the leftover gifts she didn't want. Lisa hurt many werewolves simply because she was the Alpha's stepsister. Drew didn't care. Afterward, he only told me to treat those dying wolves because I was the best healer in Black Wood Pack.

I've savored some unlucky souls myself, but I prefer creatures with fewer bones in them. Humans taste weird."

The vibration of his phone interrupted Oscar's focus on the ongoing meeting presentation. He blinked once and saw Bogy's name appear on the phone screen. He raised his hand and said, "The meeting is on hold. I have an important call." Oscar quickly got up and left the meeting room. He looked for a quiet place, then immediately answered the call. "Hello, Bogy. I hope I get the morning report." "Hello, Alpha. As you instructed, Seth and I have combed the area here."

That's it pet, eyes on me, and only me. "When your Alpha," I step into the doorway, motioning for her to go through, "gives you an order, you follow it." Her pupils dilate in recognition. I woke up and saw Alice standing next to me in a white robe and a face mask. "What?" I asked. "I'm hungry" she muttered. "Hungry for what? didn't you just eat like..." I looked at the time, "2 hours ago?" "I'm not hungry for that anymore" she said. "Okay what would you like to have?" I asked. "Seafood boil, with some imitation crabs too", she said. Who eats seafood boil by 3 in the morning? Alice. "Okay I'll call for them to get you seafood -"

Alice turned back and asked, “Is this for me?” Zayden nodded, but he appeared embarrassed. After opening the box, Alice saw a pink teddy bear. “It’s so cute!” she exclaimed. She took the bear out of the box and squeezed its tummy. Then, the bear suddenly made a loud laughing sound. Startled, Alice let go of the bear out of instinct, and the bear fell to the ground.

Security had made sure a camera would never find its way into my hands again. “I’m sorry,” I said politely. “I don’t do that anymore.” “That’s a shame,” Nadya said, crouching beside her daughter. “And this is our little girl — Alice. Mine and Stas’s.” “We already know each other,” Alice announced proudly. “She told me where the crab’s nose went.” I laughed softly at the women’s puzzled expressions. “Yes, that’s right. And Alina — congratulations. I’m sure you’ll be very happy.”

Alice walked in, not caring that Karina and Norman were watching her from the living room couch. "What?" Justin asked. "I got the Blue Prince's signal from Dave," Alice whispered. Justin honestly wasn't interested in this topic of conversation, considering that he had already half given up on hunting the nine-tailed fox that all the people of the white galaxy wanted. "Continue?" asked Justin, who didn't look the least bit enthusiastic. "How come your face is like that?" Alice protested. "Yeah, so what's the next plan, we've rarely felt the presence of the nine-tailed fox monster."

Chapter 36 Foxy’s POV I’m no longer Sam. I feel it so clearly as we walk to the table where Alpha Blair and my old friend Micki are waiting. Sam would never betray Micki by hooking up with her fiancé behind her back. Shit. What was I thinking? I didn’t know that was for sure. And, of course, the Alpha didn’t resist me either. If not, he welcomed my advances. I’m Foxy, and that will never change. I won’t dwell on the past anymore. I will continue my journey to my independence, but I need to be wise regarding what the Alpha can do for me. I need my wolves. It doesn’t matter how great Ace is; he can’t make me completely whole.
