Maxwell Dunreft remained silent in rumination. How did it all come to this? he thought. How did it all come to this massive destruction? 10 years since the alien invaders came. It all began when Earth first detected extraterrestial objects, the alien fleet, approaching Earth space from the back of planet Jupiter. In those early days, Earth authorities were in limbo about the agenda of these 'invaders'. Efforts to communicate with the alien fleet was met with silence. Julie had never seen any human not cower in fear in the presence of an Alien, let alone greet them politely. Shaking her head at the unbelievable scene that just played out before her, she walked in almost a tranced state towards her room.

“That’s very Slaughterhouse-Five of you.” For those who don’t know, Slaughterhouse-Five is probably the most famous book by Kurt Vonnegut. Among other insane plot points, the main character and a woman he’s never met get abducted by aliens and put in a zoo on the aliens’ home planet, where the extraterrestrials watch them exactly like humans would watch a pair of chimpanzees in a cage here on Earth.

Appearing all over, some in cities, some in the counties, and a few even in the middle of the ocean, they move fast and within only a few months, entire nations are reduced to nothing more than burning trash. The chimeras' invasion was fierce. With their spacecraft and advanced weapons, no military in the world stood a chance. Hardly any rest or supply, soldiers were slaughtered like pigs, and very soon, the air itself became a weapon. The chimeras' spacecraft leaking some sort of poison into the air, the people and even the animals that breathe it in were horribly mutated, turning into monsters that attack anything and everything they see.
