Marco replied, his tone dripping with menace. As I bid farewell to my brother and father, I faced a new era, a life dictated by Marco's whims. His bid to claim me had succeeded. My father maintained a stoic facade, concealing the pain of offering me as collateral to his debtor. I observed the unfolding scene with a forced smile, despising every aspect of it.
