Killian's POV “Meet Scarlet Holmes, Alpha Killian… She is to be your new Luna and the Luna of the Blackwood pack. We need her, and guess what, she's from the Blackwood pack!” Chief Han declared, making me pause right in my tracks, my brows arched as I glared at him.

He slumps for a moment, stunned, before pushing himself upright, his eyes wide with shock. “You’re never controlling Aurora with your Alpha voice again,” Lucas snarls, his voice raw and lethal, his fists clenched at his sides as he steps closer, undaunted. “Not now. Not ever. You don’t get to walk in here after three years and think you can snap your fingers and make her bow. She’s not yours anymore.” Killian stares at him, his chest heaving, his gaze darting between Lucas and me as the realization hits. “You know about wolves?” he asks, his voice laced with disbelief, his Alpha mask cracking for the first time. “How the hell do you know about wolves?”

Her grin is toothy but he is still angry about all of her words, "I see you have risen and so quickly, it has not been up toa month here and you're already making the Queen dot on you, let me tell you, it wouldn't last long." "I don't care what you have to say to me, all of your words never helped me and I see why it didn't, you're a rose and you would always stay true to your clan. I don't need your advice anymore, give it to someone who does." He moves past her but her words stop him, "Stabbed from behind and thrown away and left to die, that would be your fate. You would never be an Alpha without a Luna; you would never be the strongest without Arcadia." She laughs loudly before resuming

She gestures for me to sit at the circular table in the center of the room. “Tell me,” she begins, “what do you think a Luna is?” I shrug. “A title. A pretty label for a woman meant to stand quietly beside a man who already has too much power.” Her eyes glint in an instant. “Then you misunderstand your role. A Luna is not a decoration, child. She is the second heartbeat of the pack. If the Alpha leads, she keeps him human.” I can’t help the dry laugh that escapes me. “Human. You make it sound like he still is.”

Luna Jenna managed to ask even though she was still shaking with fear due to Elora almost killing her. “ The person who killed the girl is not her” the woman said pointing at Elora but no one seemed to believe her until another person came forward and said, “ It’s true, this girl and her wolf didn’t kill the little child. It was someone else” “ Jude…” Luna Jenna whispered when she saw her former love and now head of the Lycan Court. He had been away for some years after he married a girl called Helaena, the daughter of the Alpha of Dark Moon pack but one thing about him was that he was a man of honor and he never lies. This was why the people believed him.

“But we need to be careful. I will not lose you again.” Selene leaned into him. “You will not.” Their moment was interrupted by hurried footsteps. A guard rushed inside, breathing heavily. “Alpha Killian, Luna Selene,” he said. “A wolf has collapsed at the southern border. He is alive, but barely. He keeps saying your name, Luna.” Selene’s heart skipped. “My name?” “Yes. He said he must speak to you. It is urgent.” Killian and Selene moved together at once. Outside the pack house, two guards were carrying a wounded wolf toward the medical wing. His fur was scratched, burned, and stained with strange black marks that reminded Selene of wild dark magic.

How could such a selfless wolf be tied to such a selfish man? “I,” she began with a heavy heart, “Cortina, wolf and counterpart to Chloe Mills, the fated Luna of the Fire Moon Pack, hereby reject you,” she gasped, breathing nervously, sadness bubbling into tears in her eyes, “Rome, wolf and counterpart to Cameron Haine, future Alpha of the Fire Moon Pack.”

I closed my eyes and I heard her voice again, My mother's, she was already dead for years now. “You’re stronger than you think, Ivy. Even without the wolf.” She lied, If I had any strength, it would’ve shown up by now. I pressed my forehead to my knees. There was nothing left to hope for, Except maybe death. A quick and quiet one that doesn't hurt this much. I stood up and took some steps forward and I heard a male voice. “Thought I’d find you here.” My blood froze. Killian Wolfe. The Alpha’s son. The new Alpha of the Black Moon Pack.

"Let's go and see everybody." "How do I look?" Matt asked him worriedly. "Is my hair okay?" "You look gorgeous babe," Mason replied in a mocking tone. Matt laughed and pinched his brother's shoulder as they stepped off of the path and onto the grass. Mason just nodded at the different people Matt was calling out greetings to along the way - he'd always been the more social of the two. They both liked it that way. Mason didn't see the point in talking if he didn't have to. Some people definitely found it rude but he didn't really care. He was here to prepare for his role as Alpha, not to make friends - making connections that could later be alliances were more his speed.
