Deliver me now. A sound stirred. A shadow shifted at the far end of the chamber. The Alpha King emerged. He moved with the slow certainty of a predator, broad shoulders filling the room, silver hair catching the firelight. His eyes were embers, hard and burning, his lips bent in the faint curl of disdain. He didn’t look at me like a man looks at a woman. He looked at me the way a wolf looks at prey. My breath froze. He stopped only a few steps from me, towering. His scent hit me, sharp and musky, threaded with power. My stomach knotted.

The Alpha King isn't within sight, but she saw the adjoining door of the room opened so he must be in his office. She entered the adjoining door of the room and there he sat in a chair, reading a book. She stiffened as the book happens to be the grimoire, her spell book. "You didn't announce your presence " The king said without taking his eyes off the book. "I'm so sorry about that, Alpha " She drawled, coming up towards him. She rounded his back and ran her slender fingers in the soft curls of his black hair. Alpha Damon isn't the touchy- feel type and he hates to be touched on his hair. He pulled his head away from her seeking fingers, even as he flipped on the book.

“They look good on you.” I gave a fake smile. “Thanks. I'll be on my way.” He just nodded. The moment I reached the door, there was a sudden knock causing me to jump. Someone was coming and I needed to hide. Before I could even react, the door had opened and an unfamiliar face walked in and I could instantly tell he was a Beta. “My King.” the beta bowed his head. “Alpha Reid has asked you out for breakfast.” King? Kiinng?! My eyes were popping out instantly as I stared at the stranger in utter shock and confusion .

“Who are you?” One brow lifted faintly, almost with amusement, though his eyes remained sharp and unreadable. For a long moment he studied her as if she were a question he had already expected to find in the middle of the night. Then he inclined his head just enough to acknowledge that she had earned the truth. “Kael,” he said. “Alpha King.” The words hit her harder than the moon ceremony, harder than Rovan’s rejection, harder than the guards reaching for her in the dark. He took it from her and carefully set it on her head. “That looks good on you.” She smiled, but then, something else caught her eye. “I believe that one is yours.” Alex caught his breath. Damn. It’s all getting real to him. He hesitated, though, so she did it for him. He bent down a little so she could reach the top of his head. She tilted her head as she looked at him. “Now, you can say you’re the Alpha King.” He took her hand in his and kissed her knuckles. He’s not sure what he’s feeling. It’s all mixed together, but disbelief was quite strong.
