AUTHOR'S POV Amara was a little deflated at the turn out of things. " Who is Alpha Marcus?" She asked, from their expressions, he seemed like a powerful man. "He is the Alpha of the Red Wick Pack." Rocky replied. " Known for his dangerous ability to kill people at the snap of his fingers. He is rumored to be involved in dirty businesses, but no one has gotten proof of it." He added. " That's a lot, I mean if he is so dangerous, why did Anita go there?" Amara asked.

"Luna, this is such wonderful news." "Thank you," I said. "The pack has been really hoping for this," he continued, still focused on me. "Truly, Luna." He moved on, and another caught us barely a minute later. "Alpha, Luna, congratulations." A big smile right at me. "We're all so honoured." Then another one came up. "Alpha." He shook Agora's hand and turned to me. "Luna the goddess has blessed you both. This pack really needed this news. I mean it."

He looked terrified probably more for Sara than himself. Then there was Marcus. He had been in line to become Alpha after his father; the previous Alpha, passed on. He was a heavyset man in his mid-thirties with a bald little head that he tried to hide with a wispy comb-over. A pair of half-moon reading glasses kept sliding down his nose forcing him to reach up and push them back up every few minutes. His cheeks were ruddy and flushed with anger but his eyes were wide with worry at the same time.

Staring right at me, he had a broad smile on his face. “That will be Alpha Marcus, from the shadowcreek pack. He's an alpha who doesn’t like to interfere in other conflicts outside his border. So, I don’t know if it was helpful?” he said to me, with a sense of eagerness. It was very obvious that he genuinely felt bad during our encounter and was all bent on rectifying their horrendous experience. Unbeknownst to him, Marcus had just sworn fielty to both myself and Aurora as a loyal subject as well as the members of his pack.

Marco insisted, and I scoffed. “Go home, Marco. Stop humiliating yourself this way. You keep looking for excuses to stay, and let me say it again, I don’t want you here.” I spoke up, and Marco’s face turned red. Whether it was embarrassment, or anger, I couldn’t really tell. And I didn't care either. I had no reason to worry about his emotions anymore. Finally, he seemed to take the hint. He turned around and left. “Hopefully, he won’t bother you again.” Alpha Bryant said with a smile. “We haven’t been properly introduced. I am Bryant. Alpha of the Forestland Pack.”
