“A message arrived this morning.” Luna slipped out of bed, pulling on a robe as she crossed to him. “From who?” His jaw ticked. “The Alpha Council.” Her heart skipped. “They know?” “They do more than know.” He turned to face her, holding out the sealed scroll. “They’re demanding an audience. In three days.” Luna’s fingers trembled as she took the scroll. The wax was stamped with the ancient emblem of the High Council—an ouroboros wolf, devouring its own tail.

I walk out of the room down the hall, Arlo and James walking out of their rooms. "Morning Xavier" James says as he walks up to me Arlo behind him staring at my neck grinning like an idiot. "Morning, Arlo if you don't knock that stupid grin off, I'm going to hit you," I say glaring at him, though it didn't take long for me to smile. Arlo walks up to me hitting my back. "Congratulations Alpha" he says mockingly just to piss me off. "No wonder why, your aura feels stronger." James says laughing. "Where is our fearless Luna?"
